Good question. I was referring to the RS press release. But I'd be extremely surprised if it's a different system between the .2 cars. Even my .2 Turbo has the new hydraulic one - it's slightly quicker, silent without vibration and has no waiting period between operations, so weight aside, it's much improved.

Haha, so familiar!
Years of rat trouble - Malibu is rat central. Culminating in uncovered $7K brakeline and wiring harness damage to 997C2S - prior $15K rebuild to e500 was covered as AMICA covers rodent damage, not many insurance co.s do I believe. Solution was mentioned: multiple pet cats - rat screams at night, crunch, crunch sounds, noses and tails and a few guts and no chewed cars.

You’re not alone, this has been happening for a few years on VW cars, it’s due to the new soy based wires and tubes/lines. Genius Engineers at it again...

And sorry you had to deal with this, Mike! I guy I know once had a nest of squirrels under his hood, and he took them on a ride around Watkins Glen: https://jalopnik.com/5844636/six-bab...ild-track-run/

My 991.2 Turbo S “whiiiir’s” like haudraulic as well, but you can hear the air rush out of the FAL in my 991.2 GT3; they don’t seem like the same units.

Thanks Max! In addition to the damage to my GT3's FAL and the airbag wiring in my wife's BMW, I raised the hood on the 6.7L diesel in my F250 a couple of weeks ago and discovered quite a large nest, made out of insulation from the engine compartment, perched on top of one of the batteries with two acorns in the center! The protective flexible cladding around the ground cable had been gnawed away and the whatever it was had started chewing on the battery cell covers. I drive the truck every two or three days so the critter had to work pretty fast. We have squirrels in addition to rats and mice so maybe one read your article and was looking for a ride.

Yeah. Several neighbors have cats and there are also foxes, owls, and other predators roaming around so you'd think the truck would be relatively safe parked outside, but apparently not. I think Max may be right....
