unfortunate if true. If they build a mid engine corvette with 8 cylinders and an atmospheric engine, they would be the only major manufacturer making such a sports car and would own that market. I’d consider a C8 just for that.
If the make a mid engine turbo, they’ll just be a cheaper alternative to Mclaren and Ferrari, nothing else.

I’ll pass judgement when the cover comes off...the rendering doesn’t make sense unless the front wheels are 20s and the rears are 18s.
Chevy has one shot at converting those loyal to Ford GT, Viper, and the European brands. I sincerely hope they don’t screw it up.
I still can’t believe they’re moving the engine to the back. It would be like Porsche deciding to replace the classic 911 proportions with a long hood front engined V8. But I suppose this will give the Camaro room to grow.

The rear is very thick.. I'm not even looking at the details which are subject to change. To me the allure and difference of the corvette was its long front hood proportions. It had its own design untouched by anyone.. this is just another midengine sports car. Doesn't excite me

That's a weird rendering. Even accounting for perspective the rear wheels look hilariously small. Like 14-inchers.
I'm not a huge Corvette fan, but I'm sure the final product will look better than this rendering.

Either way, I've got a friend with a C6 Z06 that doesn't care what they do with the C8, he's getting one. I'm sure Chevy is banking on customers like that. Besides, is a Ferrari/McLaren alternative at $75k such a bad thing? Don't get me wrong, I hate turbos and what not, but an F car or McLaren at a fraction of the cost might not be such a bad thing if done right.
