Default Got the call, Touring allocation provided today!

Its been a year, April 2017 was when I first registered my intent, since I requested a Touring. And this before the Touring was even announced.

Well today I got the good news/bad news call from my SA. I've got an allocation but will only be able to take delivery in 4 to 6 months. I really don't mind, part of the excitement is in the process.

Anyway here is the chalk build with buckets and ceramics I've put together. http://www.porsche-code.com/PJVBS2Y1 (I had wanted PTS but we all know what happened with that!)

Plan to do Euro delivery too - an easy way to get my SO excited.

Congrats!

Consider yourself lucky, I gave my initial intent July 2016 with a delivery of August 2018. That's a good 2 years of waiting, but it's msrp so it's fine by me. My lock date is less than 1 month now...

Nice to hear that MSRP allocations are still happening.

I thought they stopped Euro delivery, have people been able to successfully pick their cars up over there this year?

Nope, they suspended ED from Zuffenhausen last year while they relocated the ED facility from its previous location to a new one @ Werks1 since they constructed new plant for the Mission-E there...

I'm collecting my GT3.2 there on 8/2...

Congratulations!
ED or not - if you have never taken the factory tour then you should really consider making the time. Also, take a walk around on your own and peek in all the building windows. I started snapping pics before I saw two Porsche Engineers inside giving me the laser stare. I believe this is the GT2RS test mule engine I saw.

It was only stopped for a brief period last Fall due to a registration issue with German government (unfortunately affected me ). It is back again now...

Default Build

Looks like a great build. My allocation was before touring was available or I likely would have selected that option. Otherwise our builds are almost identical except i went with the black wheels. I love my build and really wouldn't change anything. You may want to think on the black wheels as i think it turned out great. I also added the carbon fiber on the outside mirrors which i am very pleased with as well.

Haha you keep busting my chops, just landed in SF. What an epic trip - I am now happy I can say I've done Porsche euro delivery and highly highly highly encourage it with the rest of the guys who've done it. I don't know if I would ever want to take delivery of a new Pcar again in the US and not in Europe/Stuttgart.

Zuffenhausen is indeed fully back online from my understanding for euro delivery, my ED date was 4/3. Don't know about the summer factory shut down etc... You do it in the Werks 1 original brick building which has the exclusive workshop and exclusive design center adjacent to the Mission E plant being built.

I will do the recap thread probably next week after I settle back into work/making sure the house is still in one piece/spend time with the dog and get my a$$ on a treadmill... hopefully it will be interesting and also provide some useful info for anyone else considering doing it (here's one ultimate tip: *TAKE THE FREE NAVIGATION OFFERED*, THE TOMTOM... saved my a$$ so many times)

Edit - forgot the most important thing, congrats on the allocation!!! Your spec looks gorgeous and your patience paid off. It's a lot easier to wait once you know you have car locked up. Then you'll just waste countless hours hunting for chalk touring images and re-building your spec on the configurator/buying clear side markers etc..
