I am not surprised, and I had suggested on another thread that RS would prove to be faster than the paper specifications suggested. Let's see if this is confirmed.

very impressive. more than anything, I'm encouraged to see them get so much performance out of an N/A motor. here's to hoping that the N/A motors will survive for another generation (values be damned)

Amazing but almost too good to be true? Tires (assume N2?) account for much of the gap, suspension tweaks and 25hp = >20 sec improvement over .1 RS? I guess green is faster... Eagerly await the official #

So many changes to the spring rates and suspension had to make an improvement but I was expecting 7:05 not under 7! Now the anticipation for October delivery is worse!

Wow that is amazing laps times and I can believe. This is probably as close to Cup car on the street as it gets. Demand for the car will be sky rocketing now even more!

Super weather, super tires, super track conditions, including some repaving.
2 seconds, 4 seconds, 2 seconds??
Add that up and its only a couple seconds faster then the .2 GT3 Tire VS Tire.

Meanwhile, excuses galore for the C7 ZR1 is ramping up....

I thought it would at least be in the very low 7's... and based on the hoopla I figured a sub-7min laptime.

6:56 is 5.50% faster than the 991.1 GT3RS.
I guess Lizard Green, should be renamed Lightning Green.
Very impressive results.

That’s awesome. I hope the white ones are as fast as lizards...

Great engine sound. Too good for stock?

Yes but it's commonly known Porsche didn't get a good clean dry lap with the .1 RS.

Going viral now....https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...ap-time-rumor/

-----
The newly refreshed 911 GT3 RS has been testing vigorously this past month during industry test pool sessions at the Nurburgring, and now, it seems like the Porsche is laying down some seriously competitive lap times. According to 'Ring regular Dale Lomas of Bridge to Gantry, the RS may have already set a time under seven minutes.

According to Lomas's sources positioned at the start/finish line earlier today, Porsche was able to lay down three fast laps, all of which fell under the seven-minute mark, the fastest of which was a 6:56. For some context, that's about one second faster than Porsche's 918 Spyder hypercar, but roughly nine seconds slower than the GT3's turbocharged sibling, the GT2 RS.

It's worth noting that Porsche's GT car boss, Andreas Preuninger, told us at the launch of the new GT3 RS that the car would run "at least" ten seconds quicker than its predecessor, which lapped the Nordschliefe in around 7:20. When reached for comment on the newest 'Ring rumors, a Porsche spokesperson noted that Lomas's lap time estimates are speculative. We assume that, when and if Porsche sets an official GT3 RS lap time, the automaker will announce it widely. Judging by the helmet worn by the driver in the video above, it seems Porsche test driver Lars Kern is at the wheel. (Kern was the man that set the GT2 RS's record back in September.)

The GT3 RS might not have enough punch to set an overall Nurburgring record, but being able to break the seven-minute barrier without the help of all-wheel drive or forced induction would be an incredible feat on its own.
