never really wear driving gloves except when my hands are really sweaty - which is mostly on hot track days. on that occasion, there's nothing better than ordinary golf gloves. they're really thin and fit tightly, so you don't lose any steering feel and it seems like you're wearing nothing at all. they also do a good job of breathing well and absorbing sweat (and they don't lose grip if they do get a little sweaty).

I don’t wear gloves while driving on the streets, but for track days, I use these OMP rally gloves. These are light, thin, and the palm is genuine suede. These are thin, so you get lots of tactile feel unlike many racing gloves. You need to break these in as they will shed initially.

This brings up an interesting and likely OCD point actually. I noticed that the steering wheel on my .2 C4 (leather) and, actually if you look at any almost used 991.1 or 991.2 with more than 5k miles, the leather steering wheel has patina'd or changed to be more shiny, tough & less supple if those are the right descriptors. I wonder if that's normal with any leather steering wheel, or something that Porsche steering wheel leather is just really susceptible to. I always avoid any type of leather cleaner after a disaster when I used a **** leather cleaner on an older car of mine, and turned the leather into a slip and slide. But it seems like the skin oils/sweat from your hands can "turn" the leather over time. Maybe an added bonus to wearing the "dbag" driving gloves

These are my favorites.

Also Cut off gloves are great for warm weather.

I use Fratelli Orsini leather touchscreen driving gloves since I wanted something I could keep on and use the PCM at the same time.

I might check those out, they are the classic style that I like (similar to what I bought from Porsche) but the Porsche ones don't fit my hands quite as exact as I'd like and no touchscreen capability

Sure there are...waze, spotify, harry's lap timer.

My point was that you can operate a touchscreen with them on and given we are surrounded by such things these days that could be useful to some.

i totally feel like a dbag when people see me w them- but I come from motorcycles and am used to performance motor sports equipment. It makes a big enough difference in my driving experience that I wear themdespite my embarrassment. When I am pushing the car hard, I don’t regret a thing, and I care a LOT about being in control when I’m driving fast.

also, I drove an RS w an old alcantara steering wheel and it was GROSS.

I wear gloves because I have hyperhidrosis (condition that causes excessive sweat in palms and feet). I tried a bunch of the "classic" looking leather driving gloves, but could never find a pair that fit snug since I have really small hands. As some others have suggested, I then tried golfing gloves, but it's hard to find a pair for both hands.

I ended up getting mountain biking gloves that I really really enjoy. The small size fits my hands "like a glove"
Amazon Amazon

After I bought these, I realized that batting gloves would likely work too.
