Default 991.2 GT3 6MT Dyno....The proof is in the pudding!

Just took my car to get dyno'd today and wanted to share the results with you guys. It put down 454 rwhp and 328 rwtq on a Mustang dyno. For reference a c7 z06 puts down 525 rwhp on the same dyno and the 991.1 GT3 puts out a little under 400 rwhp. The torque curve is great and the car puts out over 300 ft lbs from 3800 to 8100 rpms. It makes me scratch my head when I read threads about GT4's keeping up with the 991.2 GT3 or 991.1 GT3's keeping up with 991.2 GT3 manuals. The new engine puts down a lot more power than even the 991.1 RS with dundon race headers

.

Here is the video.

Impressive. It seems that Porsche may be slightly underestimating their claim of 500 HP. GM claims that the C7Z puts out 650 HP at the crank. If the C7Z 525 HP dyno is correct then one can assume about an 18% loss between crank and wheels. Applying a similar loss to the Porsche would suggest that the GT3.2 could be closer to a 550 HP at the crank. I know these numbers can vary with the particular dyno used which is why its interesting to compare the GT3 readout to those of the C7Z on this particular dyno. In any event, this explains why the GT3.2 feels so dam fast, particularly at 5000 rpm and above.

Awesome info. Maybe it IS true that this car already IS putting out the same hp as the mew 991.2 GT3RS as some have suspected, hence the non-disclosure from Porsche as to how the extra 25 hp was achieved.

"Keeping up" is not just about power. You need to be able to drive too...

What is the surprise?? AP said that is was 500HP but those figures were ver conservative

But WOW!!

The torque I truly believe because there is a big difference from the .1. This engine is considerably different/ feeling than my 2014 991

This is is a very Special engine. Based on this info if one has a .1 RS and can get a .2 RS at MSRP they should jump on it.

Nice numbers on a mustang. Keep in mind that much of the jump between 991.1 / RS and this car on the dyno is likely down to the lower parasitic drag of the manual transmission vs the PDK rather than a boost in the engine itself.

But on a dyno would it their be any parasitic drag??

We need to get a .2 with PDK hooked up to this

On a rears wheels dyno yes, because the extra drag is within the transmission itself. No extra hydraulic pump being turned, etc. It’s the main reason the manual gets a slightly higher VMax- more power making it to the ground.

There is not even a comparison in my mind between my not yet fully broken in .2 GT3 (limiting RPM to 6k, at 700 miles) and my GT4 w/ Dundon Headers. Can't imagine how it will feel at 2k miles.

@ OP glad i see another reference for mustang dyno. My .1 with DMS headers did 446 rwhp and 301 rwtq. You said .1 did about under 400 rwhp, do you know what the .1 did in terms of rwtq?

Nice results. A buddy dyno'd his .2 here and it made 465rwhp or so on a Dynojet so very much the same results as the dynojet will read a hair higher.

It is not putting out the same HP as the new .2 RS. Porsche wouldn't release the new RS making the same hp as the .2 GT3. The .2RS will make 20-25hp more and will be even faster I'm sure. We already know this 4.0 will make 600hp, AP has stated it several times so there's plenty of room for more power.
