Again, the rumor is 1948, which exceeds VIP counts, so this is worth discussion. Also, 911R's were for VIP only, but we still see how much everyone loves to discuss and pine after them. This is still potentially a car for mere mortals. I'm not closing the thread.

I fully understand the sentiments re polluting the GT3 brand. First a GT3, then a touring, and now, maybe a convertible? I have spent much longer with BMW's before I had my first Porsche. I was then and still am now upset that they placed the M-badge on SUV's. Really, a 3 ton M-car? Frustrating!

Three Wheelin'
Have done some careful measurements in photoshop and despite some claims from mags that the screen is more raked, it isn't, it's at exactly the same angle. It does appear, however, to be an inch or two shorter!!
Also, re the top, obviously the rear of it has a temporary cover on it, but we can see there are no three-quarter lights like there were on the 997 Speedster. In fact the profile of the side window looks exactly like a Boxster and there looks to be buttresses hiding under the rear cover so I would guess this is a very close design to the Boxster 981 Spyder. Because the top is shorter (as evidenced by the no 3/4 lights) the buttresses are required to tension the top when attached to the rear clamshell. No air intakes is an interesting one though. Stop press! I just measured and this mule is wearing the 21" rears! It does look a bit like wider arches than a GT3 but it has a GT3 rear bumper so hard to be sure. One strategy could be to use RS rear end and air intakes in the fenders to give a smoother back for the streamliners but no intakes on this mule is odd. Maybe it's not got the right drivetrain in it hence the pea-shooters.
