Can the batteries sit around for a few months? If so, do they need to be on the trickle charger?

Yes they can, if you have one that was fully charged, then you didn't use it.... for example you just left it sit in a Garage no in a car, you can probably have it sit abouty 8-9 months and lose about a volt, which is still well within the safety area for the battery, and in most cases it will still easily start the car. In this case just press the RE-START button about once every 4 months just to check the battery (when you press the RE-START button is show the Capacity of the battery in LED lights.. and actually one bar lit is still its nominal fine charge. Will post up Users Manual later.

Mine came today. Yea. Scott, it appears to have 50% charge, so I have hooked it up to the charger. How long will it take to get up to full charge? Should I only install it in the car once its up to a full charge?
The battery and the mounting tray are superior quality. Thank you.

Hey David, and ALL who ordered an RS-30... 1 LED light lit on the Capacity indicator is PERFECTLY FINE, That is roughly 13.2v...that is where it will sit at 90% of the time. That is charged and ready to go... no additional charging needed! You should just put it in the car and be ready to go....

Sorry that wasn't clear for you, I will say it might be a bit counter-intuitive, but we made the capacity indicator to read as charged at ONE LIGHT LIT.... if that is blinking then it is in a LOW CHARGE. But one light is FINE. The higher lights are for when it is highly charged and being charged by the Alternator in which case it might go up to 14.6v...but those bars in the capacity indicator are just for us to visually know the battery is getting charged by the Alternator, and the Alternator is working.... Again ONE BAR is good.

I have attached a link to the most recentUser's Manual for the RS 30 HERE....

See the SNIP below on how to read the Fuel gauge indicators.. I highlighted it in YELLOW.

I have calculated the the weight saved by this battery is equivalent to an approx 6 hp gain.

Thanks Scott. I charged it anyway. Got up to three lights till the charger shut off automatically. Worked great. Put it sleep mode and will have it installed Friday. Track event Saturday at Auto Club!

Forgot to post pics of trays as I said I would... There is also one more piece to the Tray parts... its an adhesive backed foam piece that is goes UNDER the top mount bar... They just came in today, so I will mailing it to those who ordered the Billet colored trays tomorrow. For others it will already come with the Tray Package.... I just didn't want to hold up shipping for a part that isn't totally necessary.

If you noticed compared to original CAD I posted.... I redesigned the tray a bit to take out some extra aluminum from the Center of the tray I also milled it lower....I did this so you guys cold eat the Egg McMuffin and a coffee on the way to the track and not worry about the weight consequences.

I will try to make a video of the total install of everything over the weekend...
