Track Simulator

What do people use? Christophorus had a sweet looking one on p.77. Seems like a good way to learn various tracks and get feedback from a coach/instructor.

Wow have multiple pm's for the SIM :)

Orig 65k - has triple LED's F1 racing wheel some other spare parts like wheels to move round.

It had too much bounce removed the rear shocks springs - one broke the other I have they are about 500.00.

Minimal use guessing 10 - 20 hours. It was fully updated 9 months or so ago when my son moved out was the last iracing update.

It's in St Louis - there are no signs of damage nicks etc.

Will take some pictures and post them later.

I read that article as well a nd was wondering the same, looked like a Porsche seat, no idea what software and controllers.

I recommend iRacing for software and Heusinkveld Engineering for hardware and an direct drive (OSW) wheel.

dark knight 04-10-2018 01:20 AM

is there anything out there thats plug and play?

RDM2418 04-10-2018 11:58 AM

You'd think a company that made Arcade games would mass produce these things.

XBox with Forza, RSeat and Fanatec wheel and pedals. About 3K for whole setup, works great.

I have a similar setup including the Fanatec RennSport cockpit with Sparco seat. I agree, it works great and provides good bang for the buck. FWIW, the steering wheel base shown with the setup in Christophorus looks to be a Fanatec unit. Makes sense, it's made in Germany.

I am resisting pulling the trigger on a Simcraft.

Would recommned a pc based sysytem - more powerful/sophistiacted. iRacing software - all tracks are lazer scanned - amazingly accurate. You have people like Nicki Thiim (Aston Martin works driver) on iRacing all of the time.. Look at SimExperience / Sim Commander for racing rigs (6K) and direct drive wheel (Accuforce or others 1K) and the pedals mentioned above. Lots a of great racing on iRacing too.

That's a big part of why I bought mine - iRacing but the less expensive units gave me vertigo after 15 minutes on the CXC it returns.

Best to try one before buying.
