If the intention is to go aftermarket, is it better from a SQ standpoint to not go with Bose when speccing a car?

I think the new Bose cars are all optical and it makes it more difficult to integrate. If I were to do aftermarket, I would option the standard system and then integrate it directly from the PCM. Someone said there is an amp built in the PCM, but I'm sure there is a way to bypass and run a line out from it. Might want to double check with Musicar.

Today we had the pleasure of installing one of our Musicar Stage III Performance Audio Systems into this beautiful 2016 991.1 GT3RS. The owner complained that the engine and exhaust sounded great, but the sound system was far from a compliment to that, especially for his longer road trips. We exchanged a few emails and decided that he would drive down to Portland, OR from Seattle, WA to have us personally install the whole kit.
For those that aren't familiar with our outfit, we have three stages of performance audio upgrades that are specifically tailored to the pre-facelift 991/981 chassis cars with the Sound Package Plus factory system(almost every GT car). For more info on the stages, check out this thread on the whole kit structure and this one the Stage I tweeter upgrade. For this project, we needed to have enough power to overcome the engine and road noise and the right speakers to give us the clarity and dynamics at those volume levels – Stage III was the logical choice. Here are the components for that setup:

Here are some photos of the components after our modifications/preparation:
We've got more photos of the installation process itself, but I'm still taking them off the camera and editing them, so stay tuned for more soon!

My WP 3RS just arrived with the base system.
I am interested in the stage 3.
May I ask if the Dynaudio MW182 would be an option instead of the Morel MW9? I like the idea of all Dynaudio components, unless the Dynaudio doesn’t fit or is inferior for a reason.
Thanks and please send me a pm regarding the latest pricing for the Stage 3.

I installed the Musicar Stage III in my 2019 Chalk 991.2 GT3RS. It was worth every cent that I paid for it. The customer service was triple A. I am on the east coast New York Area. I spent a Sunday doing the install. Nick spent a great deal of time with me on the phone assisting with the install. Nick's assistance was given during eastern standard time. It speaks volumes for their customer service. When not listening to the sweet sound of my Flat Six roaring at full song, I get to blast "A Band Of Gypsys", Buddy Guy or some other guitar slinger.

Nick's last post was June 7, 2018 and as of then it was untested and unknown.
Curious he never followed up on this, his thread, to spread the 991.2 word...

It's good - really good. Not sure why he hasn't responded here, Nick and the crew up there were really good about my install and a follow up minor issue after the fact. With a little flexibility required given the distance, all is well... It's a top shelf upgrade for those that appreciate it. Call the shop directly if you're interested and ask for Nick or Tom.

Kinda feel the stage 2 with door treatment is the sweet spot cost to performance wise? I'm not after top top end, but rather something at burmester level albeit for a 991.1 GT3 as I use mine as a daily.
