Was sent this today. Note the rear window so definitely a mid-engined car and not a GT2 RS even though it has that car's nose.
The last hurrah 991 NA RSR based car??

Thank you for this photo. As always your info is spot on. I hope this midengined car eventually becomes a regularish model.

Oh, that looks like a very limited edition GT2RS track only model that will be so limited, even the 918 guys will have to fight each other...that's what 75 or so units would start anyways.
Or something like that...

Yup. A good example of that was the Turbo S Exclusive Series (500 copies worldwide). Not all 918 owners got one depending on when your 918 was ordered was the pecking order.

Good morning. I think you are correct as I do not know the exact number for that Turbo S Spyder. Thank you for sharing that information. The coupe version of that I know was produced more than the 47 you mentioned. The 918 owners had at that time given the chance to order the coupe Turbo S to match their 918 Spyder. Not sure how many Turbo S coupes were made when the 918 Spyder were first introduced.
The Exclusive Series I was referring to is the 2018 Turbo S Exclusive Series that can be ordered in six varying colors and the launch color was the "Golden Yellow Metallic.

Actually, there were a total of 47 Edition 918 Spyders built - including both Coupe and Cabriolet. This production # was originally reported in Car and Driver. Porsche switched over to the 991 platform and this effectively closed the window during the early ordering process of the 918. A RL member ( Pors9?) has a site that pulled up 46, but I believe one was totaled out of the 47 Porsche built. Mecam auctioned one off incorrectly stating 991 were built, which was a huge disservice to the seller, given its unicorn status.

I was told a while back that Porsche would be switching to turbo for their 911 race cars.... this looks like a GT2RS cup. Definitely not mid engine. Note the roll bar and ram air vents on the engine hood.

Thank you for sharing that info. I know one 918 owner who ordered the coupe version Turbo S to match his 918. Very unique indeed and like what you stated there was a very short window to order that Turbo S and did not know until now, they came with the cabriolet version too.
