Jimmy-D,

Which shifter was more enjoyable R8 or 991.2 GT3?
Which engine was more sonorous R8 or 991.2 GT3?

Sung to the tune of “My Way”

———

And now, the end for a manual tranny is near
And so it faces the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've shifted a gearbox that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And shifted through it without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I clutched it hard and shifted it out
I raced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill my share of losing
And now, as gears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say - not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way

But whether its is a PDK, or a manual
It is a GT3, and these are but choices
To regret either tranny, is only what one feels
And in the words of one who currently heels
Let the record show either tranny blows
Each do it spectacularly
Yes, they do shift spectacularly!

All depends on whether you did one or got done by one...

Why choose - just get 2 GT3’s - wait actually 4 - one of each w/wing, and one of each touring.

problem solved!

Somehow I was just thinkng about cars and competely missed other interpretations. Thanks for the inputs and hilarious comments.

I have an allocation for touring but really thinking about going PDK + wing. If money wasn’t a factor, the grand vision is to have the touring and then later on get an RS as dedicated track car. But given saving for retirement is a high priority too, I highly doubt that I would be picking up an RS anytime
soon (or ever). I go to the track 5-10 days a year and TBH very much enjoy beating the clock. So wing + PDK maybe the best way to go. I am still keeping my 6MT E92 M3 as my daily driver.

A few years ago while on Bourbon Street, a buddy of mine was quite sauced and made out with a tranny . He had regrets.

I don't know if anyone else is like me, but I don't think I will ever be happy all the time with having either a pdk-s or manual. I currently have a .1gt3 and am thinking about upgrading to a .2 if the right car comes along. Keep going back and forth between pdk and manual. Whatever I choose I bet I will want the other one at some point down the line. Part of me thinks better option is to keep the .1 and add a manual spyder instead of upgrading to .2.
