991.1 GT3, go for it, if you are worried about PCCB's get them measured for remaining life before you purchase. Convert to Giro Disc steel rotors and more aggressive pads, put the carbons in boxes and your good to go. If you plan to track the car buy one with a cage inside and LWB seats. Now go have fun..

Yep. Seeing them live was such a treat. Best rock shows I've ever seen. Glad I got to enjoy them before they retired.

Rob, unfortunately there are may not be enough "S" PDK transmissions to warrant the R&D and investment to manufacture parts. Hopefully, the OEM will free up their restrictive policy of limiting access to parts as the cars age. There may be another opportunity for your group down the road . Right now, I am decision making with "buy or hold" under the assumption that I am on the hook for 25+ when I am out of warranty on 11/19.

My feelings on the .1 cars is that the extended engine warranty is as good as it gets. Name another car that gives you that kind of a warranty on a motor, especially a high performance motor. I too plan to keep mine and drive it often and not worry about the miles I may or may not pile on the car. Only time will tell us how this generation will hold up. There probably is not one out there at this time with 100K miles on it,, Yet ?
These days every car out there has the possiblity of being a money pit at some point in time. Will a Porsche cost more than a Corvette, or a Ford truck ? Yes, but even a Kia can get costly when things go bad.
I am putting my faith in the Porsche product that has always proven to be robust and dependable, and expect this car to be just as capable of holding up to lots of miles and usage.
Look at all the previous generation P cars and you will find lots of people with 100, 200 and 300k miles on their cars. I expect the same out of this car.
I always think about the owner of a 996 TT in Canada ( I forget his name ) that is on his way to 400K miles with a fairly short list of parts that he has replaced. That is a lifetime and more of driving for a lot of us.
My plan is to drive it properly , not beat the hell out of it, and not skimp on the maintanance.

This question is perfectly timed thanks. I have also been thinking of a .1 gt3. There are some pretty good deals on 2014 cars around with cpo. Is there any reason not to go for a 14' car if you don't need the bucket seats.

CPO and 10 years on the motor, how can you go wrong ? I would not have hesitated to buy a clean 2014 when I was shopping, especially if it was CPO.
