It depends on your goals. If you want a dedicated track car, no question the jump to the RS would be the way to go. However, if you want driving pleasure with a little track mixed in and the potential of huge gains in future value, keep the manual GT3. I guarantee that a manual GT3 with an NA motor is only going to increase in value (even more so than an RS). Also, keep in mind that Porsche will probably not offer the GT3 + NA Motor combo in the 992 generation! Take care and good luck on your decision.

Never in a million years would I have bought into this nonsense 6 months ago. But as things have played out........this might be accurate! I wouldn't mind a manual Gt3 with my RS. Oh wait I have a 997 GT3.

GT3 Manual is so freakin fun and will go down as one of the best manuals ever coupled with an incredible engine
This. My SA is efforting to get me an alloc for an RS, which is a major long shot, but even if he does I'm not sure I could part w the GT3 6MT. It's the most fun I've had driving in years, and I'm not even broken in yet...at 350 miles and keeping revs below 5000. Of course if I had 5x the wealth I'd have both, but one or the other is going to be a very tough choice that I will likely NOT Have to make.

My bet is that a GT3 manual will depreciate quite a bit before it shows any gains.

Historically the RS depreciates less then the GT3.
perhaps this time the GT3 with a manual will do as well as an RS, if it’s the last manual.

I agree. The enthusiast that ordered manual are in the distinct minority. On the secondary market, there is little interest in manual.

This is very true but it also means that there are very few on the market as such they may hold their value. I do think they will depreciate at least a little bit. I have found that my previous 991s (Carrera, S) all were manual and all held their value well, not as well as the RS of course but still much better than any PDK 911. The Touring may also add to the rarity.

Mine is a more obvious path, have a .1GT3 and passed on a chance at a .2GT3 PDK allocation (didn't feel the jump from GT3 PDK-to-PDK was worth it) to get in line for the .2GT3RS! Now I'm waiting for the call to validate my gamble on passing on the likely chance at the .2GT3 allocation... (hoping the old saying, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, doesn't come back to bite me)

I was planning on it and I got the call for #1 but they want a large ADM so high that I would rather buy a 458 speciale to go with my GT3. I am having such a difficult time justifying the money over my GT3 to upgrade to RS. Dream car for sure but not at the price they are asking.

Woof, a Speciale and a GT3.....yea that would be awesome. Can't blame you there. I think the RS is worth the upgrade but true how much of a markup is the real question if you start getting into GT2RS and Speciale money then I'd start to look elsewhere as well. Funny thing is I'd buy a GT2RS at 330K+ in a heart beat and I'm not sure it's that much better than the .2RS at 230K weird how this whole car market has perverted my sense of value.

All these newer 991 GT cars will be much cheaper next 12-24 months.
New models and high units. ;/)
no panic to get one.

Yep exact same thoughts as you and yes they are going to that kind of money so now I am not interested.

If you start reading into it to much , it will make you restless .

The brain does this.....
Point 1 Keep the .2 GT3 manual its a N/A engine and the last manual.......definitely a keeper......Point 2 No!! get the .2 GT3RS , it's the big brother and will be the last N/A engine , its hard to get an allocation so if you get one with no dealer markup its steal......Point 3 Hold on Andreas said GT cars will stay N/A so both will drop in price when the next model comes out..... Point 4 I take that back they are now showing the 992 GT3 and looks to be a turbo , so the N/A engine is to go.............I mean seriously ! back and forth........Sure the RS is overkill for the road , but so is my watch that goes to depths of 10k ft , but I sure like wearing it..........and then when you have it all figured out , you start with point 1

So the moral of the story.........buy what makes you happy if your in an investing mood , and want to make money , buy land , they stopped making that .

actually it's the other way around : the 911 aftermarket/tuner parts and graphics biz developed 40+ yrs ago to emulate
the oem " because racecar " billboard-sized decals , wings of various designs , etc put out on Porsche's road-going '70s Carrera RS and Turbos , so a 2018 GT3RS is just channeling the " OG " !
