ADM for GT2RS
#31
A dealer got in touch with me asking if I was interested in a GT2RS. They had one guy offering $25k over and he was first in line at that point. Obviously they were trying to reach out to everyone (including myself, someone who had never bought anything from them) to get that number up, but they obviously didn't have a line of buyers beating down their doors tripping over themselves to get it. And this was just a month ago.

The conventional wisdom.
Wasn't this said about the GT3? I recall there were impossibly long dealer lists, and, all kinds of hand wringing over meager supplies. And yet the car, somehow, managed to appear "on the ground" in showrooms - for sale. Lots of showrooms.
Could it be, this time, the GT2 RS is that one really, really, special car where it wont happen? And it'll go directly from boat to garage.

Anyway, I told them I wasn't interested since I buy cars to drive, not to speculate. He then offered me a GT3 at MSRP, lol.
I was also offered a GT2RS from someone else at $200k, I obviously passed on that as well.

I didn't want to throw out a number first, so I made them do it and they said $150k would probably do it. Given where they started at $25k I most likely could have beat them down, but I'm sure they had all their sales guys going through their rolodex trying to get the highest bidder. I found it very interesting that they had to resort to that. Obviously the car wasn't spoken for the minute it was announced, which is what I would have expected.

I just can't personally stomach the thought of paying a 6 figure ADM even for a car that I want. I just think there's a lot of speculation going on with the GT2RS, similar to bitcoin.

My guy says 150 to 175k is the going rate. I personally was not interested even at MSRP. With a relationship they were available at MSRP.

My MSRP GT3 will definitely see a lot of use! Lol
