Tell me the cost regenerating PDK dual clutch vs manual clutch

Absolutely. How many people on this forum race for "1 or 2 hours" at a time??? LOL! Magazines do this one lap thing all the time. Car and Driver does it on their Lightning Lap every year. Nurburgring ring time is based on "one perfect lap" too. Does that make any Ring time irrelevant?

Nothing here surprises me. Took my .2 Manual out for a drive yesterday. This engine is the best NA I have ever driven to date. Burning no oil and zero smoke on start-up. It is a freakin beast and w/the GRP Bypass it sounds sick. Started opening her up and ****-this car fast and you need to be careful because it will bite you if you do not pay attention.
And - do not buy all the BS that this engine was made for PDK. That is such a line of crap it makes me laugh when the .1 PDK guys say this. They had a Manual and PDK for the .1 but decided not to go with the Manual. This Manual in the .2 is a perfect match for this engine.
Will never sell this car. Going to drive it until I am old and can not physically drive any more

What's the huge surprise? LOL. One lap wonder with MT vs. PDK comparing a perfect lap. Ever see a one lap race or a 1 lap DE without traffic? I haven't. Compare lap times and finishing over a 1 to 2 hour race in traffic or multiple lap averages. You will see the PDK stretch the time differential.
It's rude to stare at someone's insecurity.

I disagree. For those of us who go to the same track repeatedly, the shift points and rhythm of the lap become second nature and it's possible to become very consistent with some practice. And with the Rev-Matching Downshifts and No-Lift upshifts if needed/desired, there's no reason that a decent driver shouldn't come quite close to his PDK times.
But wouldn't a PDK car have more of an advantage on a more technical (and perhaps shorter) track than a track with a less technical layout and more straights?

Maybe so, since with a slower track you'll benefit from the 5% lower gearing of the PDK in 2nd through 4th. I guess if there are many upshifts on a given lap, this might be the biggest variable in favor of PDK.

Mid-Ohio is one such track. The back straight is followed by a series of quick elevation changes and turns, turn7 all the way to turn 11. I followed a PDK 991.1 GT3 (after he passed me on the back straight), and that car was rapidly shifting back and forth between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd to 2nd multiple times, keeping the torque at optimum for the task at hand. I was stuck in 3rd. Even if I had the modern 2018 Porsche manual, no way could I have kept up with the gear changes. Too fast, too quick, and just way too many!

As long as everyone’s happy with their cars, Porsche is doing an awesome job. Really cool that you can get the car in either PDK or manual. There is no right or wrong decision. All personal preference. Both great cars.
Now let’s just hope people actually drive them!

Also depends a bit which one he drove first VS last and even possible setup of the two cars.
Randy once couldn't keep the RS on track because the handling was so bad..
You'd think they could check alignment and bars.
