Default SMOKIES GT Meets - Check In and Banter Thread

The Smokies GT meets are a little hidden gem of the Porsche community...charity events benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, exclusive to select Porsche GT vehicle owners/sponsors. The next one coming up is in 4/27/18-4/29/18 at a location that only you should know because you're going as well.

Who is going?
What are you bringing?
I'm excited, are you excited?
What do you think is going to be your favorite part of the event?
Are you ready to post a bunch of pictures and videos in this thread to those who didn't go and get them excited for the next one?

Oh no the secret is out. 😎. Personally I am looking forward to touching base with friends and raising some money for CF. Mostly looking forward to driving some fantastic roads with groups of like minded people.

I am planning on bringing my GT4 and driving down from Wisconsin. This will be my 7th Smokies event with each better than the last

Second Smokies for me. This time I’m bringing my 12-year-old son who will be getting some private kart racing lessons Friday at AMP alongside our track day there. (I bought the day of kart school gift certificate at last year’s Smokies GT charity auction with this in mind.) Should be a real thrill for him and a great way to start the weekend.

My wife will also be along for the first time, and I’m hoping to get her more involved in the appreciation of these cars and the people who gather around them. She tends to play down my car obsession, yet she enjoys her red RS7 at home.

I’m most looking forward to seeing my son have a blast ogling all the cool Porsche GT cars (green is his favorite color so hoping so see the Gelbgrün and Signal examples!) and riding shotgun with me in the Spyder on some great mountain drives with a grin on his face.

That's great wish I could bring my 10 y/o son but it is school scheduled prohibited. I do make sure to always take him go karting on a regular basis. My wife also plays down my enthusiasm for cars but she still enjoys driving the M4 and E63 Amg wagon.

This will be my first and looking forward to it

It will be my second event. I went solo last year and had a blast!

John, I’ve sent you a couple of emails.

We currently have around 84 cars and are at max capacity. The lineup includes GT cars - 996, 997.1 & 2, 991.1 & 2 - GT2/3/4/RS/R/918
