I would also imagine that Porsche will be building another car for the unfortunate buyer.
Dealer would be liable. Unless customer just left it there without advising anyone.

Interesting that the dealer admits the keys were just lying on a desk on Facebook. That may not help any insurance claim. Hopefully was not a customer ordered car, as they would’ve had to wait a long time only to not end up getting a car at all.

My Lexus was stolen back in Nov from my driveway. I am the idiot who left his keys in his car. Done that for 10 years but not any more. It had zero significance for insurance coverage. Police told me I was number 20 that month in town. So I am not the only idiot. Matter of fact- the Auto Body shop called me today 2 months later that the car is ready. Only had 3 payments left on lease so picking it up and returning to dealer same day

Not that idiotic, who would think that anyone would want to steal a Lexus?

How would a thief know EXACTLY where to find keys to a brand new GT3 at a dealership and simply drive off with it...I smell an inside job! Someone at Porsche Beaverton ain’t on the up n’ up...

I got texts from 3 friends this morning asking if it was mine! Word spread very quickly on social.
As the owner of the other (and perhaps apparently only) other Chalk GT3 around here, I’m totally willing to offer it back to Sunset for my .2 RS allocation Win win for me and the unfortunate owner of the stolen one 🧐.
I believe this car was already delivered several weeks ago as there was a Chalk car at the Portland Auto show last month. It may have been in for a oil change/ alignment...or paint correction 🤭
Feel for the owner.

^ I feel for the Owner. When my leased car was stolen I hoped it would never be found. It was found, just as the Police said it would- South-side of Chicago. They use these stolen cars for Gang shootings and other crimes. I had no desire to ever drive it again that is why it is going right back to Lexus. Bought a Bimmer 6 weeks ago and could not be happier.

When I took delivery of my 18, I think the salesman had to activate the lo jack feature.
