991 GT3 VS 991.2 GT3 vs Huracan

This race adds an additional conundrum. The videos posted last week show a manual trans .2 keeping up with a .2 turbo S and here we have a PDK .2 GT3 getting waxed by a Huracan. GTboard videos show roll on races with a stock .2 turbo S against a variety of cars. The TTS beats the Huracans fairly handily.

Did anyone notice? The .2 was short shifting at around 8.2-8.3k rpm. Watch the tach at around 12:30. I suspect, it would have been slightly quicker if shifts were at 9k.

Would like to know what would be the sweet spot for shifts for the .2 GT3 to maximize the power band. Is it 9k or possibly slightly below 9k? 8.2k seems way to low. Would be fun to do the math, anyone wants to volunteer, lol.
Loved the video, but not totally convinced about the .2 vs the Lambo result.

8.8k...

Peek power is not at 9k, but lower to mid 8's, so going to 9 wouldn't make much difference maybe even slower(talking a minute difference). Always nice to keep it in the power range.

I thought that was weird too... just let the PDK do it's thing... you're not shifting at a 'sweeter spot' than they have programmed it for straight line acceleration.
I still don't think it catches the Huracan, but it probably would have been a tick quicker.

AP's quote says it best: "And if the car is in gear, and you are side by side with a PDK driver—I don’t just believe in numbers, I want to see it—rolling at, say, 20 mph and you’re good with a manual, which is 17 kilos [37 pounds] lighter, you won’t see that much of a lead from the PDK car until about 160 mph."

Makes sense
Looking at the Dyno, recently shared by Dave, doing shifts between 6.8k-8.3k rpm vs 7.3k-8.8k rpm, there looks to be a significant difference in the power band. About 20hp more at 7.3k vs 6.8K rpm.

Wow! That’s a big difference between the 991.1 and 991.2 GT3! Wasn’t expecting bus lengths! Even if the .2 GT3 got the jump it just kept pulling and pulling . Definitely faster than the 991.1 Gt3 by a lot more than 25hp and 13lb Tq.

The 991.1 obviously has crappy tires, as the traction control couldn't help but spin at every dig. No doubt 991.2 is faster.....but the video is less than honest with tires and jumping the starts. It would have been more convincing to see the 991.1 jump the start, and have the .2 pass it.
