So basically you are saying it's good because it's almost like PDK in every way? Why not go all the way then?

Just teasing :-)

I would appreciate some input from other MT owners regarding the 1st to 2nd gear flat-shifts. Just want to know if this glitch is limited to my car, and I need to take it in.
I've really taken a liking to the no-lift shift in the MT. I don't have the issue you're describing. It works perfectly every time. It does only "hold" the RPM of the next gear for a few seconds (like the auto blip downshifts) but I've never had the computer "miss", whether I'm 20%, 50% or 100% throttle.

What do you mean by missing exactly? The car still goes into second, no?

Somebody will overrev their car doing this but it is fun. Don't try this at full redline your first time.

Do you have to be on it (ie, lots of throttle) for this to work or is something that works even when driving in a village?

Works all the time. It is hard to get you're head around it though - ie consciously do it.

An overrev is not possible (at least not a serious one) the rev limiter should kick in regardless. The only serious issue would be a missed downshift.

It goes to second no problem, but the revs keep going up until you catch it.

No rev limiter protects it from over rev.Been using mine at track but only going WOT down the straights.

You dont need Sport button to do powershifts.

Correct - or a missed upshift (where you select a lower gear by mistake, rather than a higher gear)...

I've tried with low, medium and full throttle. It has worked flawlessly for me. Most of the time I still forget to use it even when I'm trying though.

I used to powershift my 1965 GTO. I guess I didn't know there was any other way to do it.

I never let off the throttle.

I think CJ understands that you can't over-rev with the throttle, but someone will speedshift into the wrong gear and there will be no hope of saving it. Many years ago I miss-shifted my BMW and as I was letting out the clutch I could feel the engine spin up and the car rapidly slowing. I was able to immediately push the clutch back in before any damage. I wasn't shifting fast or at red-line so I had some room but it still remember the sinking feeling.

Correct, which is why I said "it rev matches in sport." You can powershift in sport or not sport.
