My Ex-GT4 had FVD LT Headers, their Valveless Sport Exhaust, Tune, and upgraded TB/Plenum. Plus- it had all the light weight options( I wish I weighed it) including battery that I bought after-market. It was pretty quick and a hoot. I say "quick" but not "fast". I figure I was pulling upper around 3.8 sec to 60. My .2 Manual certainly has more power and is "faster"( it feels that obvious when you drive her)- but maybe only slightly "quicker". I guess some Mags have the .2 at 3.5 sec to 60( I am still breaking mine in). So- my modded GT4 could probably match the .2 if the .2 driver was not as good/fast as I at changing gears. One can only change gears so fast so the extra say 50 hp is probably negligible. But - not way my GT4 could keep up to my .2 to say 100 mph +.

Keep in mind that my .2 spins its rears even in 4th on a 50 degree day. My GT4, being mid engine, did not spin as much so it may play in to the GT4s favor

Can't wait to hear your headers impressions as I might be going that direction as well. At a fraction of the price of a .2 manual
LOL

If these results hold up, we won’t even need headers against the MT. But with headers and a tune i am gunning for the .2 PDK. It looks like headers/tune is good for about 30-40whp which should be plenty, but we’ll see!

In all seriousness; do you really want to go blow ~$8000 for more speed on the street?? Heck- I never modded my .1 because the car was plenty fast for me and I am not touching the .2. Only rear Bypass

After 2 years and 24k miles you do start to yearn for more power, Jimmy.

Plus altitude! I am down probably 90 hp. But you are right. This thing is plenty fast. But i have some mod plans, including headers, cage, etc. in due time.

The crave for more power gets worse as the numbers get higher. My 900 rwhp manual supra makes me wanna shoot for 1500 after getting used to the power. Can I get the most out of it.......hell no but still satisfying

The answer is simply...because he CAN! There's very little that's rational about modding cars for power...LOL. Mods that improve handling, ride comfort and weight transfer make sense but power mods...those are just for FUN!! Heck, in stock form, the .1 GT3 is not even street legal at redline in 2 gear...!!! Go for it!

Believe me- I know. I modded the heck out of my GT4 but it did need it.

But I do understand to each their own

I have an 18 Turbo and can tell you from experience that my Turbo (non-S) will run, not walk away from a 991.1 GT3 at Sebring, 16 to 17. We have played out this scene many times. Not even close! I can also tell you that I can run down or run up on a 991.1 GT3RS repeatedly in the same scenario. Not saying anything about my driving, just about the car. I hope you are right, because I am trading my Turbo for an 18 GT3, October build. Just saying that the gap between the 1 GT3, versus the 18 Turbo is no contest. If 25 hp makes that big a difference I will be one happy camper!

Do new headers change the torque and torque profile?

The big difference from the 3.8 GT3 to the new 4.0 GT3(and even from the “old” 500hp 4.0) is not the increase of 25hp and 14 ft/lb, but in fact the torque delivery.

I haven’t driven both, but is it really though?
