AP on the GT3RS.2 and questions on suspension
"Spring rates have been upped from 45Nmmm to 100 Nm/mm for the front and 120Nm/mm to 160Nm/mm for the rear , but have lowered the rate of stabilizer bars and are weaker " ...
Does this mean this car is much stiffer for normal driving on the road ?

Yes! They did an amazing job with the 991.2 GT3 RS. The only thing that i don't like much is that the car is available only with PDK.
WHY??!!

Seriously though and I'm a big manual enthusiast.... Porsche's PDK especially in the GT3/GT3RS cars is quite fun. And obviously quick.
But let's not turn this into a manual vs. PDK issue, again. I'd rather chat about that other extra 15hp if they would have put more decals or aesthetic design details.....
What's remarkable is the ability to extract 600+ hp from this same racespec 4.0 with no turbos.... see how lucky .2 GT3 / GT3RS owners are?
Pdk or manual, it don't really matter.... the real prize is the new RSR/Cup-based engine. Great insights in this video from AP himself... worth watching/listening to a few times over.

But seriously, yes... PDK fast shifting and all, but it would have been pretty dang awesome to offer a 6MT option. No point for PAG to offer it, though, since they'll all sell with PDK.

Understand its a race car. But your all will sell with PDK is of course correct but so would the GT3 have all sold with the PDK but also offered the manual. I bet almost as many people as in the GT3 would opt for the manual in a RS.

Would have been nice of course but it is what it is. It's moot now anyway. I'd be more glad that they're still all motor, all natural, no boost.... for now.
GT2RS & GT3RS = PDK only.... all sold or will sell very fast.
Just like PDK or Manual GT3.... all sold or are selling quick even on the secondary market with ~20k ADM's.
Like AP said in the vid..... focus is on (and optimistic for) them fast 'Ring times. Hence PDK for the RS cars. Even weight in grams matter, as a whole.
And like double the F spring rates of the new 3RS.2 vs. 3RS.1? Wow. No wonder the .2sways had to be a little bit thinner.... little things here & there, they all count.

He put to rest that the .2GT3RS will stop production at the end of 2018. When discussing the magnesium wheels he stated they would not be available until next year because of the supplies for the GT2RS. The production chart of limited quantities of the GT3RS is bogus.

Shocking! No one thought that chart was anything official in the slightest. Just relax, either you are getting an allocation or you aren't.

AP folds his arms as soon as the engine is mentioned. Very defensive. Seems like he wanted more out of it, but the regs prevented it.
100 grams a side by removing under seat carpet. That’s a nice touch.
The suspension tweaks are the oldest trick in the book. If anyone drives their GT3RS on the street, I suspect we will hear complaints about the ride. Of course, I am plotting to swap the springs to the stiffer ones on my GT3 .... lol. Who says you can’t drive a cup car on the street ....

Typical AP,very knowledgeable but also a very good salesman. It might be my impression, but he also sounds like they've come to a point where there isn't much more to be said in terms of improvements on this platform.
Considering the take of the manual transmission in the GT3.2 is pretty good,Henry Catchpole missed the most important question of all : " why no manual ? "

Agree that my overall impression from AP words is that they’ve done all they can to maximize this platform. There are no more incremental gains to be had and they will need to do more than just change the air intake/exhaust and remove the carpet under the seats for the next all new 992 RS.
Either develop a CF monocell (which they won’t due just for RS), or radically change the engine to turbo and/or hybrid.
