991.2 GT3 RS allocation thread

Also to add some perspective:
When a dealer/ GM/ GSM has dead certain in his head that the cars should go to certain people and Porsche allocated less than anticipated cars...there's really nothing he can do.
It's the end of the month and quarter so all the huge dealers are fighting for the Premier Dealer Status stuff which for a 700 unit+ store could mean $x00,000 annual bonus for hitting sales targets, PSMP, Loaner penetration and the update to the new lame font for their website. We're just trying to squeeze in as many March deals as possible before Libor increase hoses all the April lease rates (it's coming- grab a raincoat).
For me with 5 brands to placate the end of a quarter is full on:
dinner on fire/baby crying/ phone ringing/ sink flooding wild scenario.
Our local 918 VIP passed on the 3RS ("it looks the same as the 2016") because it's not exotic to him and he literally drives his 918 daily...

Just got verbal confirmation of my msrp allocation (Oct. build) ... should have a commission number by the end of business.
I'm hoping that all of you who are waiting get one as well ... don't get too down if you haven't heard yet as many dealers have yet to make final decisions on all their GT3RS cars.

You all should understand that Porsche is loving this consternation over allocations of its GT cars. It’s the Ferrari system but on a bigger scale. Porsche GT cars sell other Porsche models. They enhance the value of used models. Don’t believe for a second Porsche will do anything differently.
Chaosoul, your posts accurately describe what occurring at the dealer level regarding allocations and the 918 program.

going to disagree. 98% of the public doesn’t know what a gt3,gt3rs,gt2rs is.

I agree. You might have added that 98% of the public cannot afford to buy a Porsche. But Porsche enthusiasts know the difference. Once you get into buying a Porsche you quickly learn about the separation of the models.

My wife is the typical P-car customer, she thinks I'm insane for buying the same car in various colors each year.

I pretraded my PTS RS last fall in order to get a 2018 GT3 at MSRP and am now pretrading the incoming GT3 (not even taking delivery) at a small hit to get a 2019 RS at MSRP. I bought another 2016 RS recently (got a great deal from a private seller). It may sound crazy but I couldn't be happier. The plan all along was to trade the .2 GT3 in order to help get a .2RS. There are pretty decent deals around on 2016 RS's, which in my opinion are more desirable than a .2 GT3. Having said that, I would still like a manual .2 GT3, hopefully prices come down some in the next year or two.
The ADM's I was quoted for the new RS were insanely high, even with a delivery mile 2018 GT3 pretrade option. One dealer required a $50,000 deposit in addition to the pretrade.

Anyone here anything different than February 2019 availability on the mag wheels? Probably going with standard wheel but still contemplating to add mag wheels to my build for now to delay and hold out for pts if it ever becomes available... while having a commission number in hand the whole time. Anyone have a commission number with mag wheels?
