I talked to noted Porsche 911 evaluator for Panorama Mag Nathan Merz and he said there will be no premium for the manual over the PDK.
He is an expert in the 911 market and a judge.
There are more Manuals and there is no performance advantage. According to him in the long run options that have a performance advantage are
worth more, and add in the fact that as time goes along less and less people WANT manuals or even know how to drive them.
Why will people pay more in the future for a slower car that they can't drive?
But I know RIGHT NOW, tourings are bringing in more ADM only because not many wanted to order a GT3 without a wing. I wouldnt take that chance
no way no how.

a quick look on AutoTrader shows 39 2018 GT3s for sale of which 8 are MT6, so 31 are PDK. With this supply of PDK sitting inventory in USA I see prices dropping the ADM on the PDK.

For the whole world, I believe PDK>MT6 numbers are correct but for USA this is questionable as AutoTrader show different data; 39 of the 2018 GT3s for sale with 31 being PDK, 8 being MT6.
Speaking only of the market that I live in, the USA, the MT6 looks like it will hold value better
Expanding on Mr. Merz' general point about performance options being prime movers also begs the question
"Since the GT3RS is only 20 hp more and priced so much higher (incl ADMs) than the 2018 GT3, then shouldn't the GT3 rise in value?"

okay, I'm throwing in me .2 cents about pdk vs MT value, E46 M3 in 6MT is still on the rise, and there are many many of them, so is that crappy dsg transmision, but the 6MT E46 prices is much higher than the auto/ dsg
PDK is so much better, but it was so hard for me in 2014 to get the 50th anniv in a manual, most dealers were ordering them/ stocking them in PDK, manuals, are and will be more rare commodity, and long term will hold value IMO, I almost jump in and get the 997 gt3 back in 2014 because the 991.1 gt3 didn't come with a stick. So I got the next best thing the 50th anniv 7sp mt that year.

It's funny I bought one of the first 2012 991 carrera with the 7 speed manual. Total stripped out simple car only options specced were heated seats and sunroof. That car was very rare no one was buying the manuals after the PDK was introduced in the 997.2. Fast forward to 2014 and I had offers at almost MSRP when I got rid of it. The guy who bought said it was very hard to find a manual and he still owns the car to this day. I think the market is one that could change esp with millenials but that being said, other than the other guys with GT3s I know of no one who can drive my manual Touring, literally every person I come in contact with cannot drive a manual, it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming years

In general, IMO, people who do well enough in life to afford these cars are motivated and enjoy challenges and engagement as well as furthering their own skill sets. Manuals are a challenge (relative to automatics), rewarding and provide bragging rights.
Why do people golf? Ski? All learned skills for people successful in life enough to afford to engage in them.
Golfs been around for over 100 years.
I personally can’t golf, but I sure did relearn how to drive manual in my time waiting for my manual to come in.
There will always be manual drivers.

As a collectible I would opt for the 6MT over the PDK, for MY use, track with occasional street use I would opt for the PDK over the manual. If I were to speculate on future values, I would think the 6MT would hold a slight premium over the PDK in the future due primarily to rarity.

Seems to me there are a lot of options if you want a 991 GT# PDK car. But if you want a 991 GT# 6MT car? Not so much. As for the guy who predicted <100 touring cars, give me a break. I don't know where some people come up with such drivel.
