first GT3
I wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributes here on this site.
After being with out a Porsche for several months after selling my 996 TT that I had owned for 12 years, and being unsure of which direction I wanted to go. I took the plunge and purchased a previously owned .1 GT3.
Over the last couple of years I had been trying to fall in love with a front engined , V8 , Manual car.. I wanted something that was a rough and routy hot rod and yet still had the handling I was used to with my previous 911's.
I bought an Aston GT ( the stripper they made in 2015 ). It was cool, but it just wasnt special and it was too soft and a bit weak.
After selling the Aston, I then purchased a Corvette Z06 which was a great car, but once again, it just was not special, It did not have that "thing " I was looking for. Then I realized that the problem was that I missed my 911tt.
So I saw the error of my ways and it came down to which 911 to pick and which one would scratch that itch.
I knew I wanted it to be really special, I wanted it to be a "bad" hot rod of a 911. I wanted my next 911 to be rough and routy. So I set off to drive all the latest and greatest offering from Stutgart. All the new cars are so polished and silky smooth and so perfect in every way that nothing was really standing out as special. Then I got behind the wheel of a used GT3 and I knew as soon as I started it that this was the right car . I knew that it was a car that checked all the boxes that I had been trying to check over the last couple of years.
After reading ( lurking ) here for the last couple of months, I pulled the triggger last week and drove home yesterday with a 2015 that I purchased from a dealer. CPO , so I have a warranty for the next three years and I am just thrilled to be the new owner of this amazing hot rod of a 911.
I got to do approx 200 plus miles of Texas back roads to get her home. I left the car in auto and played with the paddles a bit while at speed. Then I discovered the PDK sport button and all I can say is Holy Crap !! That is the coolest thing ever. I just don't see missing a manual tranny near as much as I thought I would.
You guys that already own these cars know all of this. I think I am only saying this for anyone else out there who might be sitting on the fence about which 911 to buy and wondering if they will miss their clutch pedal. I would say, jump in both feet first and get one of these GT's.

I know, that parking job stirred you guys up.. It was a lonely little town with a total of maybe 10 cars on main street , so I wasnt to concerned about my half *** parking technique.
It was funny that when I came back to the car from getting a coffee, there were people taking pictures of the car.
Realizing I am way late to the GT3 party,, I am thrilled with this ride. I thought I was over the whole car thing a year or so ago and thought I had lost the passion for P cars. I forgot ( momentarily ) just how amazing and special they are.
This one is not going to be a garage queen. I dont care about miles and plan to run the wheels off of this car every chance I get. It will get touring duty, back road shenanigan duty and a bit of track time as well.
