According to Porsche's announcement of the .2GT3RS
the car will be available to order now. Here is how Porsche stated it;
"ZUFFENHAUSEN, Germany – Porsche’s Motorsport division has raised performance potential of the 911 GT3 RS in a mid-life facelift for the existing 991-series model, which underpins the German automaker’s extensive GT-based motorsport activities.
Available to order now prior to a public debut at next month’s Geneva motor show, the ’18 model receives an added 20 hp from a lightly modified version of Porsche Motorsport’s race-bred 4.0L 6-cyl. engine, increasing its reserves to 513 hp at 8,250 rpm."
Yet, to my knowledge no dealer in NA has received any allocations. How can you order if no allocations are available. Additionally, most of us believed that the model would be a 2019 but the bulletin states it will be a 2018.
The only possible explanation is the bulletin is directed to only European countries but if that is the case it should have stated that. Porsche needs to be clearer as to when we will have an opportunity to order the car. PCNA owes us that much.

Yes that’s how the dealer is able to show PCNA who then shows it to PAG that there is a bona fide deposit placing customer in need only of a dealer allocation to make the sale. Emphasis on Good Luck

I doubt many dealers follow this practice. I believe they wait for allocations assigned to them with an understanding all of them are spoken for. With GT cars, PAG and PCNA know all the allocations will be filled. There is no need for dealers to demonstrate they have the customers to buy the GT cars.

My dealer SA texted me the day of the official announcement on 2/22. He informed me that if I was interested, to send him my configuration.
I sent it to him, post haste! I'm not counting my chickens, however. It was a nice gesture, I'm just not convinced I'll get an allocation, lol!
Have others experienced this from an SA?
Cheers/B

You're a highly regarded dealership. If a dealer is getting a limited number of allocation,why would they lead many customers to believe they will get an allocation by inputting V70 information? For an example, if you anticipate 6 RS allocations, why have 20 clients input V70 data? I am not criticizing the practice but trying to understand the logic. In my twisted mind, I think it's a sales technique getting the client into the door and possible sale of other models.
