Default 991.2 GT3 with wing to touring conversion help

hi, Anyone considering doing this? Anyone in the states got the touring package yet? please PM me.
Trying to get a list of parts for this conversion.

PM me if you have any info or can help me find the parts.
Thanks.

PET is not updated yet with the touring package.
Only have the 911R cover.. which is different.
especially the brake lights.

Pretty sure it's the rear lid and the rest of it is badges. Otherwise it's the same car. Assuming you have a manual of course!

Maybe some minor interior things like leather only steering wheel. Also you can have chrome window surrounds on touring but they're an option. So deck lid the only significant thing basically. But will they sell you one?

i don't have a manual, PDK, i just like the look, maybe duck tail. but i don't care about the leather stuff, or the chrome window stuff.

you can buy the 911R deck lid, so i am sure porsche doesn't have a problem.
Just have to find the right part.

Subscribing to this thread; I am also interested in this conversion, especially with a simple ducktail if possible. I love the look with the factory GT3 wing but it would be nice t switch things up from time to time. Bolt on-bolt off swap around just like a set of wheels would be my preference.

Yup that would be such an ideal compromise. Daily driver with the ducktail, then bolt on the deck with spoiler to go to the track.

Plus great to have the option of no wing on a PDK car.

I don't think there's any reason why a ducktail wouldn't fit. It's just a set of hinges and the latch. Not terribly complicated. The whole thing with the touring rear deck lid may be significantly more complicated.

Only issue I can think of would be sorting out the wiring/coding for the active rear wing. Or you can just leave it unplugged? Not sure what the aerodynamic detriments of this would be at speeds where it is normally deployed.

not having an active wing isn’t a big deal for normal driving. The only time you really need the wing downforce is on the track or when driving at autobahn speeds.

And you have a diffuser on the .2 GT3, so no wing or a ducktail would be fine for normal driving.

I too too would be interested in a plug and play option I could take on and off myself, similar to what 1963SWC posted.

I would have considering a Touring if they had a PDK option, so being able to switch out the wing on and off like I do with the wheels, would be great for my .2 GT3.

I have done that with my .1 RS. Taken the uprights and the wing off and driven on regular roads. It looks somewhat neutered though. Next time I do it I can post some photos.

The problem we have with the non-RS is that the uprights are part of the decklid. I just walked out to check thinking I had overlooked an easy solution. We need an entire decklid with ducktail preferably with all necessary hinges and hardware and prepainted in GBM.

- Wiring for an active rear wing, otherwise assume parts are possible at some point.
- If you believe some comments, they have "different" suspension settings. Not sure to what extent or just marketing speak.

OEM might be best route for components. Convince your mate with a touring to order another active wing on your behalf...

I did say a while back.. .. the wing guys all secretly want their GT3 wingless. its just coming out now.. dont worry we are all amongst friends here and happy to provide emotional support for such a public statement .

I have no issue with anyone doing anything they like to their own cars but I just don't get it? A GT3 is a GT3 and it has all its heritage with a wing. Taking it off is like putting a turbo engine in it to make it smoother and easier to drive. I advocate for the "don't mess with my wing" group.

The air intakes of the engine are different also:
- A central one for the Touring.
- Two side ones for the "regular".
