991.1 GT3 vs GTS
OK, don't kill me here.
I realize they are different cars. I am racking my brain to try and figure out what my next car will be... and I don't plan on buying another for awhile after this.
How different are these cars truly? I can pickup a 16 GTS for around $100k well optioned with a 7 speed manual which I would prefer. Obviously that's not happening in a GT3. Also, my daughter who is 2 loves riding in the car. The GT3 is also not an option in this department either.
My fear with buying the GTS is it's not really a "special" car that I will enjoy driving on weekends as I have a daily driver. The thought of taking my wife and kid out however for drives sways me back into reality.
However I feel like I'm settling with a GTS vs the GT3. Also on my mind is the 997 Turbo. Can be had for less, can also fit my daughter in the back.

Where can you get a 6sp 991.1 GTS?? (7sp )
Based on your comments ...
If don't plan on tracking, will most likely have more fun in a manual GTS plus rear seat. Plus save a lot $$$ too.
With that said, I don't think I'll make up your mind either way. Good luck

Also buying a used 991.1 GTS for that price (without knowing more details) it's likely it will hold value quite well as the big depreciation hit has already been eaten, so if you wanted to trade up you should be able to do so without much of a hit.
Why wouldn't you daily the GTS though? If it's just a weekend toy that's hard to justify the other compromises. I daily drive mine (well not today, freak snow here, I took the minivan) but even though I can easily fit the wife + 2 young kids in the GTS my wife doesn't really like using it for weekend outings--and I kind of agree. Much easier to take her car or the van depending on where we are going and have zero worries about where we are going or cargo considerations. We do all go for drives sometimes but it's not the same as if I'm diving by myself--it's kind of distracting to have your whole family in the car. During the week though the kids love it, perfect for a kid shuttle.
While not a 9K beast, the GTS 3.8 is waaaay more than you need to enjoy on the street. Honestly the only thing I remotely envy is that buttery 6 speed I hear about but have not yet experienced.

Is the GT3 a better car? For sure. Is being able to ride with my 2-year old daughter more important than that? To me it would absolutely be, but that's the decision I think you need to make.

imo, gts < gt3.1 in all aspects. GTS is more of a cruiser.

The GT3 is going to be your baby. It is YOUR toy on the weekends. That leaves out the kids, which also probably leaves out the wife. Are you willing to go there? Btw, nothing wrong with the GTS. It just isn’t a GT3. But you would get to drive it more, so there’s that.

I love my 991.1 GTS cab as a daily driver and as a fun weekend car. I live in So Cal and it makes for a fantastic grand tourer for trips up the coast to Santa Barbara and it is plenty powerful for carving the canyons. It can be very docile as a daily driver but if you want some seriously sporty driving, the GTS has more than I can possibly squeeze out of it without risking my life, license or both. I have an allocation for a GT3 but I am not getting it because the GTS is lacking for something. Rather, I would like to experience the 6 speed manual transmission, street legal race car experience in a 500 hp naturally aspirated engine. If for some reason my Touring order were to fall through, I would be quite content with my GTS for many years to come. I don't have any kids but if I did, I would go with the GTS over the GT3 in a New York minute.
