.2GT3 vs .2GT3RS
Ok, I would kill for the RS but just curious what are differences.
Engine? Is it just software to have 20HP more? What are those big air scoops for if engines are the same? Maybe those 20HP is just ram air effect? I don't buy 0-100sec in 0,2sec faster than GT3. Transmission is the same, gearings are the same. weight same, RS has bigger drag and only 20HP more. You don't cut 0,2sec around 3sec with only 20HP... To be honest I expected something more from RS for this delta price... |
Don’t forget the RS has bigger and stickier fires and Porsche 0-60 numbers are always conservative (for example, GT3 6MT is rated at 3.9 but tested does 3.5 in what appears to be the most egregious example). |
RS is not an RS
in other words, compared to a GT3, it isn t a different kind of car let s clarify, it is different than a 488 or even a GT4RS or, despite the common chassis, even from a GT2RS, which I agree are different class of cars instead the so called RS, as it s real name should suggest is not an RS but a GT3RS in facts, as should be, IS a GT3 focused for track use, even though often confused as a body part extension... :D so expect a GT3 with suspensions aero and tires tuning for track, not a huge increase in power band, which a GT3RS is |
Personally, I'm going to keep both. Totally different cars in my opinion. They are both track focused, but the GT3 is a car you can "daily" more in my eyes. The RS is really much more of a weekend cruiser/track car. At least that's just my view.

Weight reduction shown in the video could account for the acceleration changes. Decreasing a vehicle’s weight by one hundred pounds can generally improve a quarter mile time by a tenth of a second. I am am not sure why Karl Meltzer or his look-alike are shown running on a trail. Perhaps it means that you have to have endurance while waiting for an allocation. |

And the gearing is not identical to GT3 - it has a different final drive to offset the larger rear tires - net difference is pretty small though. The greater drag doesn't have much effect up to 100 kph, but it does when going faster (reason the GT3 has 5 mph higher Vmax) |
Don't forget better and improved PDK-S versus the 1.2 GT3 version.

I saw them describe how much better it was than the .1 RS PDK-S, just didn’t see a comparison to the .2 GT3 PDK-S. |

From the evo article, where it says this PDK-S is "bespoke to the RS" under "Engine and Gearbox"

People usually say GT3 and RS arent very different before they actually own an RS. All those incremental changes do change the character of the car. The sharper suspension, the induction noise, the shorter final drive... |
