Sean can chime in if he sees this, but it is going to be a dedicated race car. Sean will be racing it starting in May I think. It has a carbon fiber hood, and he is getting fire suppression system and a few other things installed soon. Sounds bad ***!

I currently have 17,500 miles on my 991.1 GT3 and use it as my daily driver with a commute of about 300 miles per week and a 750 round trip drive to my Florida house at least once a month.

No worries at all. I take mine out above 40 degrees. Tires don't lose any performance once it warms back up. I have not been out in anything below 30 F. Yesterday it was 50 to 54 F. Today we have 6 inches of snow. lol

I've ruined a set of Pilot Super Sports by driving them when it was well below freezing. I've also taken Yokohama 032Rs, which has a much higher temp rubber compound, into a light dusting of snow- I didn't ruin them but they lost so much drip that I stopped on the road and double checked I wasn't driving on sheet ice. I'd guess the MPSC2s are somewhere between these two in terms of ability to handle low temperatures, so start from warm enough and keep them warm and you'll be fine, but don't let them drop too cold or start from cold.

I wouldn't doubt it Grant. Just trying to imagine why I would take my GT3 out when it is that cold? Zero fun! 40 F is my cutoff, and then I avoid the mountains when it is that cold. Too easy to get caught or find ugly conditions.

Below a certain temperature the rubber ceases to behave like rubber and starts behaving like plastic. That's obviously terrbile for performance, but it can also lead to cracking. Taking your car out of a warm garage for a drive when it's cold out is fine (as long as you don't hit snow/ slush, which can rapidly cool the tire). Driving the car from cold in particular risks damage- the tire will retain a flat spot, and the stress trying to roll it can crack it before internal friction warms the rubber up.
