Default September build ED delivery

My GT3 is scheduled for a September build. Right now I have a Atlanta PEC delivery which should happen sometime in November.
From what I’ve been reading Atlanta can only do two delivery’s a day, and my car may sit a few more weeks in a que for that.
If I switch to a ED delivery approximately when do you think Porsche would schedule the delivery?
Hopefully within a couple weeks of production and I could enjoy some driving though Europe.

I just got a Sep build allocation and asked about ED and my SA said (without laughing) 'dont count on getting a slot.'

Keep in mind that you are being charged for Atlanta PEC delivery whereas the dealer is on the hook for ED. Some dealers will attempt to bill the customer for this and some will not.

You need to contact your dealer and they will work with Porsche NA to schedule a slot - no way for us to know. It's a great experience!

Ask immediately about Euro Drlivery. They have the same restrictions in terms of number of deliveries for US customers per day. I’ve had issues over the years getting specific dates, so ask now! September/October are popular times

Do you all have V status and commission numbers? Ive yet to receive mine for a fall build as it was supposed to be a MY19 car and got bumped to a MY18 as they all did.

FYI they 'typically' require (dont ask me why) a lead time between 2-3 wks from the production complete date until European Delivery ... so you would be looking at an ED date around the end of Sept beginning of Oct ....

I would talk to your SA and see if you can change your config to include ED instead of PEC Delivery. PAG will charge $3k to your dealer (minus), but they get an extra 911 allocation (plus) is what I heard in exchange and seeing that 991.2 allocations are getting harder and harder to get that allocation might very well be welcomed.

One thing to note is what the weather will be like in Europe during that time. I pushed my ED date out as far as I could to try and get better driving weather for Germany/Switzerland/France/Italy where I will be headed (my ED "date" was early Feb, and you can push it out 8 weeks which is what I did for early April ED)

For a Sept build you would likely want to get an ED date as close to your build date as possible to capture the remaining temps from summer if there is availability

I picked mine up September and I kept it in Germany through End of October. We had beautiful weather.

Agree. I've done numerous EDs, most in late September/early October and have had great weather. Beautiful time of year as weather is perfect - not too hot, mountain passes typically still open. On my ED in early October 2017 the only issue I had was some snow on the Grossglockner in Austria, otherwise it was just fantastic as usual. Highly recommend this option. I typically stay pretty loose with my plans over the 2 weeks. I usually only reserve the first/last nights hotels so I can adjust my schedule on the fly to chase good weather. in this day and age when you can get a room on booking.com for the same night its easier then ever.

I'll probably be over there on my annual vacation to Alps during your possible ED trip- let me know if/when your going and perhaps we can meet up for a spirited drive! See you next month at NCM.
