Default Is the GT3 Ride Height Adjustable?

Hey all,

I've seen pics of the GT3 suspension and it appears to have adjustable height spring perches on the struts. What's the deal with these? How much can the car be raised or lowered from how it comes from the factory? Does anyone do this?

Yes, this is mainly there for corner balancing (to optimize the weight on each wheel). Some do lower the car an inch (25mm) or so for track use also...

Front splitter clearance on my 991.2 GT3 is just over 4 3/4 inches. It was between 4 inches and 4 1/8 inches on my previous 991.1 GT3s and my 991 RS. Surprised the splitter height is 3/4 higher on the .2. Might look more aggressive if the front was lowered slightly, but not sure I want to mess with factory settings.

I don't plan on messing with it either. I'm just curious as to what's possible. Can you jack it up to 4x4 height? I've been known to off-road a bit...

Some people do Rally race GT3's, but that entails a totally new suspension...

Well... what I do isn't so much rally racing as much as it is just sort of cutting corners a bit...

I don't know what the limits are to raise or lower, however, I will share I have lowered my .2 about 5/16- 7/16 for a more aggressive look and to get the nose a bit lower. As mentioned I. This thread the .2 nose is higher off ground.

Interesting to note because I have noticed that I really never need to use the Lift as mush as I did with the .1 GT3. My GT4 never had a lift and never needed it. I bet the .2 GT3 is about the same clearance as the GT4

Thanks for posting this its very interesting. Did you notice any difference in handling or braking from lowering the nose?

When adjusting height it should be done in the context of corner balancing. Simply raising and lowering based on tape measure measurements is unwise.

To date I have corner balanced and aligned all of my GT3s. Significant difference in handling.

I think you are right. I had a GT4 and believe the front clearance was at about 4 3/4 as well.

Not yet. Have only 150 on the odometer and haven't had it out much this winter. Once I get it on the road more and specifically the track, I'll have a better feel for it as well as camber adjustments. Have FAL so not too worried about it being lowered from a scraping perspective.
