I consider 150-200 Euros a night cheap, however. YMMV

Rent a car with low power, cage and proper tires.
I know of a guy who rolled his Sixt M3 rental at the Ring: besides the bodily harm he ended up basically buying the car. Not worth it.
Do you know the exact dates now?

On the 23,24 and 25th it is Touristdriving in the evenings 17.15-19.30
The 24th is Manthey Trackday (Porsche only) and the 25th Destination Nürburgring Trackday.
FWIW: I might do the Destination Nürburgring and in that case I come to Nürburg on the 24th and stay for the weekend.

Look into renting from Apex (www.apex-nuerburg.com) at Nurburgring as well. Robert and Misha are great and very helpful guys, plus a nice selection of cars as well. They do coaching and taxi laps too.
I'll be at the Ring for the Manthey track day on the 24th and might stay for the weekend as well.
Have fun

I disagree. Steak is sooo US. For a snack I suggest "Currywurst mit Pommes" and for a meal I'd go with "Sauerbraten". Of course you have to top it off with a "real" beer or good wine. Don't forget your after dinner shot to aide digestion.

I spend a lot of time in Germany. The Porsche Museum is really just "okay." It's basically just looking at cars. Go look at some pictures on Google and you'll get the idea. The Mercedes museum is far superior an overall experience. You can easily do both in one day. You could easily accomplish both plus a Porsche factory tour if you start early since the tour is only two hours. I'd plan on half a day for the Mercedes museum and half a day for the Porsche museum + factory tour. In fact, I'll be doing exactly that for my father's 60th birthday in late March.
The Nurburgring is probably the only item on my bucket list that's ever vastly exceeded my expectations. I've found the night tourist driving sessions that run for only a couple hours are actually better than the full days because the ring has about 1/10 the traffic. You can fit in 4-6 laps which is enough to get a good taste before you get exhausted. Honestly, it's not even worth going to the full-day public sessions a lot of the time if you're actually planning to drive. The full day tourist sessions are almost more like going to an epic version of cars and coffee. Gone are the days of the multiple factory stores at the Ring boulevard (shopping center); it's barely worth the visit anymore.

Recommend a private tour of the museum. Usually they combine one or two others but the group is less than five so little time is wasted t
I think 1.5 -2 days for this total visit
A tip if you don't want to mess with a car in Stuttgart, take the train. There is a station at the museum and it is very easy to use and very inexpensive

Can you take a standard rental car on the ring? I’ll be there in early July. Have a factory tour scheduled, but from this thread, sounds like I need to be up at the ring for a day. Anyway, I think I have a boy 3 series rental, will that work on the ring? Or is it worth renting a cayman for another grand for 4 laps?
