If we had some audio clips THEN we can really start to discuss the fun stuff.

But the development advantages on the new hard lash valvetrain haven't been fully realized yet. I don't know if it's 9250rpm, or 9500, or 9750 or 10,000... but Porsche is going show us the true potential of this engine before it disappears. You can tell how completely different this gt3.2 engine is already is when you drive a manual 911r.. the surge to redline with the new 4.0 engine is much more aggressive and eager. if we're at the end of NA, and the new gt3 is the swan song... Porsche won't disappoint.
I just don’t think Porsche will be able to sell a car that costs under $200k with an engine more extreme than the one in a $1MM plus race car that is overhauled every 30-50 hours and doesn’t have a warranty.

Latest article. Why can't these freaking photographers take video of the car? It's NA for sure.

Of course. And for those who don't get over it, there will be plenty of buyers looking to take their spots in line.
As for which auto magazine is reporting accurate information, who knows? Only three things are for sure:
1) A lot of what Porsche tells us is rubbish.
2) A lot of what auto magazines report is rubbish.
3) A lot of what is posted here on Rennlist is rubbish.
I'll wait for the reveal. In the meantime, better to focus on driving.

Just a few thoughts: With the ever-tightening emissions restrictions in the EU (for instance, the new particulate filter requirement), I think it is going to be challenging for the GT division to deliver an NA vehicle that beats the current 4.0 L, 500 hp version. From what I have read here on RL, the particulate filter affects the horsepower of the car. If that is in fact the case, would Porsche consider releasing one version of the GT3 for the EU, with the filter (and less horse power), and a GT3 (with more HP) for the ROW that does not require the filter? I doubt it because those in the EU would feel like they are driving a "lesser" or "neutered" car.
The simplest solution may be adding forced induction to the equation, like they did with the Carreras. Making it a hybrid is forward-thinking and perhaps the way of the future but that comes at the cost of added weight which flies in the face of keeping the car as light as possible. There is a lot more HP wiggle room with turbochargers.
Off topic, but from an interior aesthetic standpoint alone, I would rather have a 991 GT3 over the 992 GT3. I am an analog kind of guy. I am not a fan of what I have seen in the mules with the digital gauges and the overall layout and ergonomics of the 992. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the analog gauges and the tactile feedback of pushing a button.

Not to split hairs, but.................I think it would be called a 992. HYBRID first, like a Prius is called with its two power sources and if they go plug-in, then Hybrid Plug-in 992.
Then derivatives would be naturally aspired, naturally aspirated and supercharged, naturally aspirated and turbo charged, etc..
It should all provide for a fun different feeling ride like being shot out of a cannon when you get on it.........
