Yes. There is another thread on here with a similar pic where this was addressed by the membership.

Looks like the result of an acidic wheel cleaner to me. Did you personally hand wash the car each time? If so, what did you clean the wheels with?

^this.

With the finish on the centerlock nuts, certain cleaners remove the finish and discolor them as shown above.

Yep, hard water. Permanently etches the surface. I had this issue with my 2014 GT3. Car was washed out on the desert, wheels were warm to hot with unfiltered water. Couldn't get it off no matter what I tried. I was tempted to get new CL bolt x4 but in the end just accepted it.

^ This. They are anodized. Super sensitive to all kinds of things. Hard water, chems from the wrong cleaning solutions etc. I tried to freshen my black ones up (I'm the 3rd owner) and got them looking pretty good. They are not soft metal wise just easy to stain. I used baking soda/vinegar for the hard water spots, high end polishes and a tooth brush. They turned out pretty good since they are 7 years old. I ceramic coated them at the end. They just won't polish up like paint..

I use turtle wax cleaner and use very little same thing I’ve washed cars with for about three or four years. They have also had lots of salt from the road. Same water( hard or soft who know). Had centerlocks before this car, all the same scenarios, except no oxidation The dealer said they would fix em or replace them.

Good call. They are meant to be replaced ever 3K track miles anyway.

Sometimes Porsche does pretty dumb **** like this one. Why not use something that is a tiny bit more durable on the wheel?

If it’s hard-water related then I’d try a de-calcifier cleaner like CLR. I’d imagine it can’t make it look any worse!

Citrus cleaners will eat away at the anodized finish, as well as a host of other products.

I question whether hard water alone, after only 4 washes and 800 miles, would cause that kind of discoloration. Some kind of chemical etching from a cleaning solution seems more likely.

Tell everyone they're raw carbon fiber center locks (like something Lamborghini would do on a Performante)

Agree. I no longer use and of those "Wheel Cleaner" sprays before washing. I have Modesta applied and baked by Detailer and only car shampoo and water on wheels. I believe those sprays have way too many chemicals that are too strong
