P21S is an excellent, wheel safe cleaner. Been around a long time and is very mild. It works in combination with agitation from a soft board haired brush. My go to cleaner, never an issue.

P21S is a good product, if a bit pricey, and won't harm wheels. As long as wheels are cleaned regularly, though, and brake dust and grime aren't allowed to accumulate, I've found a good car shampoo works great without the additional expense of a dedicated wheel cleaner. With PCCBs I almost never have to clean the wheels between car washes anyway and even then actual brake dust is pretty much non-existent.

When my wheels get really dirty I use Sonax wheel cleaner. It spays on green and turns red when its ready to be brushed ( pretty cool ) Both P21S and Sonax won’t damage the wheels, and while expensive my 5 gallon lasts years so not too bad in the way of overall price. I went with PCCB this time, so maybe I can retire my boars hear brush and wheel cleaners.

Good to know. My Detailer gave me a brand new bottle of Sonax and I just threw it in the closet with the rest of my detailing goodies. I will try it in Spring

You're going to love the way the PCCBs stay clean, along with their other benefits. Good choice!

Being OCD I will probably clean them anyway. I had silver wheels on an Audi RS4 and those Audi pads were the worst. The good thing about the platinum GT3 wheels is they look the same clean or dirty, easy color to hide the brake dust.

May be worth looking up Jean Claude on this forum for advice... That's tough on the eyes and would surely bother me...

I personally don't like anodized finishes at all. Way too finicky. All you're supposed to use is water and maybe car wash soap. Anything else that touches it may very likely leave permanent stains/marks.

Well, I'm pretty OCD too , but with the PCCBs I can literally run my finger over the wheel after a drive and there is no black residue to be seen. I'll be interested to hear what you do with regard to washing them after you've had yours for a while.

Going to Opti coat the wheels, so I probably won't need my wheel cleaner, just rinse off. Irons were I nightmare after many years so PCCB it is. I'll post up pics when I get my GT3, before and after wash

Anyone try Simple Green? It has always been my go-to for cleaning wheels, especially after track use. I just picked up a GT3 and don't want to screw these up.

Simple Green has a ph of about 9.5 which is fairly alkaline (baking soda is 9.0). A good wheel cleaner like P21S is ph neutral (7.0). I'd be concerned about the long term effects of using SG, especially with the anodized center caps on the GT3. Even a good car wash shampoo like Meguiars Gold Class has a ph of about 8.0 and would be a better choice than Simple Green, IMVHO.

I never thought about it in terms of pH. Thank you for the info.

P21S Total Auto Wash, in concentrated form has a pH of 9.6. Cutting it with water will reduce the pH. In my opinion, it's the best degreaser/pre-treat.

Those center locks are showing tale tell signs of a reactive chemical being used. Either a strong acid or alkaline.

I should clarify my post above by saying that when mixed with water to the recommended dilution, Meguiars Gold Class car wash has a pH of about 8. In it's concentrated form, it has a pH of 9.4.
