Exactly! I will take a 458 any day over a 488. I will take a GT3RS any day over a turbo S. And I will take the 991.2 GT3 9000 redline NA engine over any hybrid turbo autonomous 992 any day, LOL!

Today the GT3 really separates itself from the Turbo and the GTS by offering a high revving NA engine. If you load up a GTS with all the performance options it's not that far off assuming both motors are turbo charged. We also know that the Turbo is essentially just as fast on the track but a much more comfortable ride. I think it will lose a lot of its appeal.

I'm not a track rat (only go a couple of times per year) and will probably lean towards a Turbo S or GTS Targa if the GT3 has essentially the same motor. Look at the appeal of the GT3 touring. Do you think they would offer a touring model in the future?

Track rats will be thrilled because the GT3 will take a big jump in performance and the allocation game will go away as most buyer move to other models or brands. But there is no denying that it's the end of an era and it's comes with some sadness.

I personally fall into the latter of these two groups, and will never deviate because my dislike of turbo engines is firm and unchanging. I've been timing my purchases accordingly, which is why I've got a 458 Italia, 458 Speciale, 991.1 GT3, and soon 991.2 GT3 in my garage - because my days of purchasing new cars are now over. These cars will last me the rest of my life, as I'm now "done." Yes, the wife is happy that I'm done.
Well then, sir. I plan to follow suit soon. Plus maybe a Performante. Cars for me just can't get better than these we just mentioned.

All of this is just pumping up the ADMs on the .2 RS. It is going to be stupid.

I bet that 80% on the Buyers will not track and will bubble wrap the .2RS - Such a shame

I have (0) desire to invest in cars and hope they appreciate.

lots talk
mostly circular
buy whatever u like. it’s ur hard earned money.

u want fast. pdk turbo etc
u want status quo manual na 991 is good
u really want to be pure and aural symphony... u have not heard a real flat six until u drove a 70-71 2.2L and then 72-73 2.4 the rs 2.7

donr try to convince other or yourself as to why u buy which. we are not ur wives or moms . just do it

Good plan... My "plus one" was a '59 356A for good measure... Definitely not disappointed. The car is a blast.

My thoughts...IF the 992 GT3 goes turbo, it will need to be as a stripper/track special in order to keep its rep and differentiate itself from the GTS and Turbo. Might be a great car...

Agree with most of the sentiments here. I have no doubt that the 992 GT3 will be an awesome car, and one that I can respect. I can say that about the GT2 RS also, but respect and appeal are two different things. Turbo offerings just don’t have the same appeal to me - for others this may be different.

Yes, we can’t stop change, but it doesn’t mean we can’t feel a little sad about the death of the NA motor. It has a glorious history and has given me many enjoyable moments behind the wheel.

i can’t wait for my gt3 Touring to arrive later this year - I plan to own it and drive it for many years to come.

I don't hear any mud being thrown at the GT2 because it is a turbo. Indeed, the exact opposite. Just imagine a slightly scaled down version of the GT2 but with the same level of emotional intensity. It will be awesome. I cant wait. I have enough NA cars in my garage.

If GT3 line goes turbo then what will it be "best" at? Today it occupies a simple position as top line NA & track, that belongs to TTS and GT2 on the FI side.

Similar to electrification. Hybrid is first step but once the full power train is electrified, how do you maintain the careful segmentation which has been so well suited for every owner to find their niche match?

As long as its near 3,000 lbs and 550+HP with a decent redline and linear power curve, I don't care if turbo or even PDK only. Should be a nice addition to anyone still with a MT NA GT3 in their garage and fun to modify...

IMO it’s not the best NA and track anymore. I would give that crown to the Perfomante .
