What everyone is saying above, is exactly why I love Singer and am so glad they are doing what they do now and for the future...all the older car magic style, with all the newer stuff you really really want to have in a car you drive often.

Singers are awesome. But you just don't need it that bling. For the same money I'd sooner have a $200k well restored early car plus a 991.2 GT3 RS.

Good observation of a 992 GT3 test mule

https://paultan.org/2018/03/23/spied...turbo-clothes/

And then there is this:

Even thought he writer cannot spell "buy" correctly at the end.

Well we should start a speculative vote or guess.

"though" obviously I cannot spell either. Anyway I kinda think Road and Track is right. But since the 992 GT3 is coming out in likely 2020 I dunno. Lot can change in that amount of time. Will be very interesting.

Sometimes I see the GT3 parked, and it looks looong. I drove the GT3 back to back on track with an S2000, and couldn't believe how HUGE the GT3 felt by comparison. Maybe I'm looking for a Lotus, but I want Porsche engineering and the 911 layout.
I think you are describing a 996 GT3. Modern with no nannies except ABS. And it is small compared to the new GT3's.

I still have mine from brand new.

996 GT3 is a great car, but still huge and heavy compared to original 911 (still a foot longer than a long-hood 911). There are now numerous outfits making hotrods on the smaller cars with modern mechanicals (Singer, Ruf, Paul Stevens, Guntherwerks, etc.). But none of those may be as good a value as a 996 GT3 today...

BTW, I have in my garage my 991.2 GT3 parked next to my 1973 911 hotrod. The new car is 16.3" longer (which is a lot in car terms) and it weighs around 1,300 pounds more. Love them both, but the 45 years have added to the waistline (like their owner)

agree. Too many chicken Littles on this board. 992 GT3 will still be NA.

I wouldn't bet either way. Even if Porsche intends to stick w/ NA for the GT cars the capriciousness of government regulatory bodies can easily derail even the best laid plans.

So far it seems like the 4.0 GT3 / RS engine meets the current regulations when using a particulate filter, the issue is probably that the next GT3 will be designed to meet the next Euro stage.

I think meeting emissions standards is just one part of the equation. And, really, probably the easiest.

The more difficult part is meeting emissions standards with a flat-6 in a car that is competitive in the marketplace.

GLWT.

And competitive on the track....let's not forget, GT cars are direct relatives of the class racers their name suggests...

Thats great, but they are not that competitive other than on specific circuits - the NA engines don't have the flexibility of turbo engines in terms of moving around in torque space. Ask the drivers what they think.................

Question. If you are on it, would the emission be significantly different between a NA and FI engine? I guess I am wondering how jumping on a 500 hp NA engine is going to produce less pollution than a 500 hp FI engine?
