Gotcha, sorry didn't see that his data included non RS. I'm sure those have come down now c/w may. Any thoughts on what I should ask for trade on a winged manual car w 2500 miles and msrp 178? I'll have to leave a little on the table as I'm getting the 3RS for sticker.

Perhaps some honest dealers on the board can chime in and be transparent about actual numbers they work with. I would think that if yours stickered at 178 then the dealerships needs to make at a bare minimum 20 - 30 on it. I'm thinking they'll offer you 168 for it and sell it for 20 over msrp to make their 30 profit but just a guess.

I'm looking to buy from a private party and missed a great deal that was on either Cars.com or AutoTrader...

Hey ajag,

My suggestion would be to just post it up on RL marketplace asking for 198 and see what action you get. Drop the price by $5,000 if it doesn't sell in 4 weeks if you really need to move it. Depending on your tax savings on the new 3RS you're picking up I'm sure there's a break-even point you need to be at.

Auctions are a crapshoot so wouldn't trust them if my life depended on them. Just get that price from your dealer and start haggling. Can you post how it goes as I'm in the same position as you.
