I'm sure any profit this seller made on the car was couch cushion money to him. Doubt there was nefarious intent from the start. Local guy here owns 4 of them, all purchased at early 'market' values supposedly. He's a collector and the money is pocket change irrelevant.

Absolutely. Not implying by any means that the seller did anything wrong. From the conversation I had, he seems to be a great guy who buys and sells cars regularly. He enjoyed his 918 a ton but wasnt into the manual so didnt drive the RS at all.

And any money he made on the RS was likely chump change and he sold his 918 for 1.175 and after his premium probably netted less than 1.1 million which is very low from what else is on sale.

Bottom line is the seller isn't doing this for the money but for the enjoyment of the cars which is how it should be.
