It was the same buyer who bought both.
However, he bought 918 first, so there was at least one other high R bidder, who definitely didn't have the matching 918!
(i do now realise when they asked me if I wanted to choose VINs, I shouldn't have said 'I don't care, it's only a number...')

seller just got the new gt3.2 and has a gt2 rs coming and will also be getting a gt3.2 rs.

There was a 911R (maybe still) at Porsche North Houston that could be bought for $385k

the seller was the same for both the 918 and the 911r but two different people bought it. I was sitting in front of the seller and was chatting with him the whole time the cars were being sold.

Looks like a successful event for the Seller of this R and I do hope the Buyer enjoys his/her car. Seems to be well optioned but I did not see if it has SMFW or not....did not see it mentioned on the option sheet. Anyone know. Personally I would want that option even before AC.

I'm impressed with how well the prices are hanging in there.
I mean the RS4.0 was limited to 600 cars and to me is a waaaaaaay more fun car to own for the same money.
But hey, let's hope it continues and buoys the price of all LE porsches and they don't flood the market with more and more and erode the specialness of a LE porsche

Three Wheelin'
Collectors piece. Buy and hold. I'd bet this is a small percentage of buyers car portfolio.

You know the initial purchase intent, how exactly? Remind us.
And you also know the new buyer's intentions?
Amazing.

spoke to the seller after. Only reason the R had such few miles was cause he hates manual. He just bought the car cause he could.
Whether the intent to flip flop was there from the get go or not I don’t know but I don’t think a few bucks of profit was going to make any difference for this guy.
i have a GT3 coming in the fall/late in the year. I’m not buying to flip. I mean the hassle of paying tax and then selling the car to what - break even or make 10k? Who cares. I don’t buy these cars as investments- I buy to drive and have fun and if when it’s time to sell if you break even or make a few bucks- bonus!
The seller drove his 918. He tracked it and from what it sounded like he enjoyed the hell out of it. The R he got just to get but he didn’t like manual hence he low miles.
