And that is the exact reason I like it! In fact, I almost wish it had more of the standard Carrera grill on top of the engine (bonus points if it looked the same but just lighter).

The extra money for the GT3 touring is worth it over the GTS for the engine/six speed/suspension and I like LWBs and don’t want a backseat. #becauseracecar
I’d have a base or T if I were not getting a GT3 touring. I actually think the narrow body looks better, I even like cabs.

Some good points, my thoughts and likes dislikes :
- I find my GTS a little lacking in Grunt, so a GT3 is attractive (yet to drive but have compared power curves)
- I do really appreciate Turbo motors but want to stick to NA for now
- I really like the R from the outside (and inside ofcourse) and want something that attracts some but not too much attention
- As I am getting older the 'R' or touring have real appeal. I had a 964 RS for 10 years, with full alloy cage and door bars, harnesses etc. The engine ran on Motec, different cams, throttle bodies and so on. So I have done the race care refugee thing, so to speak. I want the lightweight high performance side of it but as 'blend in' as possible (there is a balance here, it's just that the rear wing for me aeshtetically is a very strong statement, no one looks at an R or touring and thinks Ford do they !)
- I can't get into a new GT3 touring and just not prepared to pay silly premiums, my budget is well about secondhand GT3 money, this isnt about affordability in some ways, more sensibility. I don't have any debts and reasonable savings, but spending too much would spoil the enjoyment for me.

You mean without a wing?

Anyway....hope you get what you want and drive the heck out of it...enjoy!

On the first day of owning my .1gt3 I was insulted by a first grade teacher who I found leaning against the car. Turns out I parked in the wrong spot for a whopping 5 minutes. P car drivers and specially gt3 drivers do have the "douche bag" stigma. Oh well I couldn't care less. As others have said "wear the wing with pride"

I'm also interested in what is involved in putting a stock lid on a GT3. It's been done, and IMHO it looks fantastic. I imagine the main issues are the engine air intake and wiring in the retractable spoiler.

Has anyone put a ducktail on a 991.1 GT3 yet?
Someone in the UK did it on a 991.2 GT3 using the Porsche Sportdesign ducktail - and it surprisingly fit!
