Default R decals on a white 991.2 GT3

Considering simple ideas how to differentiate my upcoming white GT3 from all the similar ones at track events.
I think any aggressive or crazy looking wrapping/decals is best left for a Cup car or a RS, not for GT3.

Anyways, found and showed these pics to 2 friends, both thought they look awful - your views or have you done the same for your car?

P.S. I will have a simple spec, but it's a one I haven't found any pics of: White + Black Leds + Silver wheels. Any pics online?

Not a big fan of the red color stripes. Perhaps a different color would suit the white better. Anyway, its your car do what you like with it and only please yourself

Love the red and stripes generally. I find white GT3s too tame without some embellishments.

Yep I'm loving lot more the green but am starting to think it's bit "R fakey" to put these on a GT3. Just can't wait for delivery and the season to begin!

Or just go simple.
With the air scoops in the deck lid, the over-the-top stripes don't really work.

Given the redesigned front fascia, I wasn't sure the stripes would look good on the 991.2. After seeing your photos, I now think it works, but the wing makes it a bit problematic since there's insufficient "real estate" on the rear deck to carry the stripes from front to back. If you went with green stripes, you might consider green script on "PORSCHE" that works with the yellow PCCBs (keeping the black stripes).

I'm personally undecided about decals on the frunk, roof and rear deck, but the Touring will be an easier car for decals without the wing IMO.

I went through this same dilemma myself. CWM GT3 is arriving this week, so finalizing my ideas with the shop that's doing the graphics / clear-bra / tint. I was set on the red R top stripes and perhaps some spoiler script for a long time, but have decided against it - for now at least. My car has a white / red / black theme, so the side stripe looks extra good with the black door handles. Going to have tint and the side stripe done for now, but in the process of making my decision I made up a bunch of mock-ups. Here are some of those. The first one is what I'm going with for now.

With a weissach style hood:

Some ideas with some red around the spoiler ends and the front bumper / mirrors:

And some ideas for the spoiler script:

Hope these help!

Not a fan of all the R wannabes. You won’t separate yourself because that graphic has become the norm for regular GT3’s. Now something different in a gray with a small red pinstripe to pull out the red a bit.

IMO, the first one looks good, clean and simple.

Agree with you. Green stripes look nice to me though. Here's a pic of my recently bought .1 with single black stripe and black accents. I might get rid of the black shark fin quarter panel accent and just go with clear and side stripe. Anyway, it's a easy fix should you not like the outcome.

Before the 911R, those weren't known as R stripes. Many porsches and 911's have had those PORSCHE stripes along the door bottoms. Anyway, the gt3 has a better engine so if anything, the R is trying to be "gt3.2-y".

Use em if you like em

I asked this on the R thread and it sounds like the stripes coming from the factory are thin enough to do PPF over, does anyone know if the aftermarket ones are as well?

also specifically for the touring model I haven't figured out where the stripe should stop on the tail given there is a gurney flap/strip on it now. do you think the stripe just stops at the gurney flap? or goes over?

Porsche won't do the hood/roof stripes from the factory on GT3's. They will only do the side scripts but their prices are outrageous. You're much better off finding a local shop to do the work. I also would highly recommend putting the stripes on top of any PPF due to the visible gap that is created by the PPF transitioning off of the stripe onto the paint.

I love the look of the 911R stripes on the GT3. White cars are great because they are a clean palette and will look good with just about any color. The best advice I can give is either wait until the car is delivered or take a paint sample from you dealer to the shop who is going to install the stripes and make sure to see samples of the stripes in person in all kinds of light. They will always look different in person compared to your computer monitor.

Here are a couple of pictures on mine getting installed.
