Depends on who you believe based on all the previous posts on here on this subject. Did you not read any of those?

if anyone can direct me to a thread on this for the 991.2 GT3 I would appreciate it. I did a search and not coming up with anything. Porsche changes these systems rather frequently.

Pretty simple search. Click on search button, select advanced search, enter “Bose” in keywords box, select thread only:

thanks I am really not trying to be difficult but I didn’t see one for the 991.2. As you know the 991.2 system is redesigned from the .1 and then of course the GT3 has less insulation more road noise etc.so not necessarily same at other models etc. I don’t really need a mega sound system. The engine is the sound system but is the standard system adequate or totally lacking etc? Lots of topics are revisited. If you have a standard system in your 991.2 GT3 I would really appreciate your impressions.

The standard system isn’t that bad . Haven’t had much time to listen to it yet (just got my car) but it was loud enough and adequate. Certainly not what I would call amazing but about the same as the sound system plus on my 991.1. Haven’t heard Bose system on .2 yet.

Look into upgraded front tweeters from Musicar. There is a group buy on the 991 Forum.

helpful! Thank you. I went with that bc my build was getting $up there bc I had to many other sacred cows ie pccb’s buckets PTS seat inserts etc so making some trade offs and hoping the stereo wasn’t a bad one.

Mine arrives around June 2018. Consensus is it’s worth it if you listen to music. Weight difference versus stock is supposed to be less than 5 pounds, if I remember correctly. It was definitely worth it in my 997.2 GT3. I skip the 991.1 GT3 due to the lack of manual transmission, so can’t compare there.

I received my GT3 this week and had the same dilemma as you. I went with the standard system and am pleasantly surprised how good it sounds. I have no doubt the Bose system sounds better (I have it my Audi), but I am completely satisfied with my choice.

Standard sucked in the .1. Bose adds a subwoofer. Get it. Why not?

helpful perspective. I’m feeling more assured about it now. Thank you.

Have you heard the .2 standard system? I hear it's an improvement over .1.

I made a thread about it. Bose is a good compromise if you don't want to do an aftermarket system.
