All else being equal there's really no argument then. Go with the Bose and the long hair.

It is weird that manufacturers can't put together a good sounding lightweight system at this day and age. The only "good" stock sound systems I have heard are the Volvo B&W system and the top end Meridian Range Rover system. They all have a ton of speakers, instead of just putting in a few quality ones. I was pretty disappointed listening to the Burmester speakers in Mercedes and Porsche. Their home audio stuff sounds great.

An important observation with the new head unit. The new unit can play high-res 192khz files, including flac. No DSD though. The new electronics in this thing is in a different league as well, much better than the old one. You can use a SD card to load your files and enjoy.

My car was delivered yesterday and the Bose system is pretty decent for a stock sound system. It definitely has its flaws but it is miles better than the base system. I would definitely recommend it. I'm not sure why some have said the 991.2 GT3 has so much road/exhaust noise you can't here anything. I find it to be the opposite. The exhaust note is too quiet for me. I will definitely be getting an aftermarket exhaust.

If there was ever a super easy 'skip' option for me, it was BOSE (Buy Other Stereo Equipment). Have it as an 'upgrade' on several of my cars (P-car included) and it is nothing to brag about. This also being a GT car, the only music I want to hear is behind my ears.

ok good. I passed on the Bose and other little goodies that add up like carbon fiber mirrors and interior package, stitching, wheel color selection , extended leather options etc etc to make up for
Irish green
Pccb’s
buckets
front axel lift
extended range
chrono
houndstooth inserts on full black leather interior (touring car)
steering column leather
headlight washers in exterior color
side stripes
carbon fiber shifter (manual)
didn’t want ant to exceed $185k. I’m right at it. So its a highly optioned “stripper”. LOL!!

May I ask the cost of the houndstooth inserts??
Sounds like a gorgeous spec!!

However its also important to consider that Bose has been sinificantly improved with .2 991 cars carreras and GT3s alike, compared to .1 991s and previous Bose systems in Porsches. There are numerous comparisons online describing this. So unless you've recently tested a .2 991 GT3 or carrera with Bose, I wouldn't be so certain it's not worth ordering.

Agree that in general Bose is overrated.

To me when optioning the car the options fell into two major categories: 'must haves' and 'can live withouts'. In fact it started with 3 categories: 'need to have', 'nice to have', 'don't really care'. The Bose never made it to the highest category as there were many other options that I personally preferred having over the BOSE. Given there were many must haves (PTS, matching CXX, PCCB, buckets, lift, etc.) those ballooned the build quickly, so the audio became a very easy sacrificial lamb. Again, all subjective, what is of value to one may not be to another, hence why we likely won't see too many identically built GT3s...

There is a variation in the stripes (e.g. there are multiple shades of grey) but the yellow as spec'ed (Cadmium) is the closest match the PCCB calipers, so if that was your goal good choice. For folks with the satin platinum wheels, I am told the 'aluminum metallic 100-58' stripe is a good match.
