Usually cars listed for sale does not necessarily mean market value or what they are selling for. Good example is the 991.1 GT3 prices. You can find many dealers asking msrp or above for these cars, waiting for someone to bite. I just checked Manheim, real wholesale price for a 991.1 GT3 with average miles of 7000 sells for about 130K, much lower what people are asking.
I’m also curious to see what people pay for a 911 R. However, buying a 991R is an emotional thing / want. I would not be surprised to see people paying significant premium.
These cars will settle in the upper $200,000s. I am not saying it is worth more than the new Touring but with the "R" moniker and the limited edition it will still demand theses types of premiums for years.
I know; the "Touring" will also be some what a limited car but you do not have a plaque - truth be told

Prices will get there in 6-12 months once the Touring cars hit the ground in mass.
Those are bleak prospects for the R. If mid 200's, I might as well take the dealer trade-in offer at MSRP. At least, I didn't lose anything and can use the tax credit against the GT2RS.
If you want an R, now is the only time you'll have a shot at one at an ok price. This is the last hurrah of speculative buyers who had the intention to flip. The people picking these up are the ones who plan on keeping them for a LONG time, myself included. The next time these go up, it won't be temporary.
