best place to buy the cage?
Hello all, I'm looking to get a cage installed in my 991.2, I'm from OC (Anaheim) area, where's the best place or shop to do that?
I'm looking for someone who's already worked/installed on this car, I'm afraid to go to a newbie.
Thanks

Are you actually doing a full cage or just a rear roll bar?
A full cage is a serious project. I went with a full cage when I turned my C6 ZO6 into a race car and it was quite a project. If you are installing a full cage I suggest doing A LOT of homework before choosing a fabricator/installer.
I believe you are referring to the bolt-in rear bars that are similar to the "Clubsport" option on the Euro cars. If that is the case then the installs are relatively straight forward. Just want to make sure you take it to someone that actually cares and that will do a clean install.
I just went with a BBI rear bar with Schroth harnesses and couldn't be happier. I chose BBI because they seem to have great customer support with many other track applications for my car...aftermarket suspension...etc.
I can post pics of my install if you would like.

Thinking through the same. GMG and BBI seem to be great options. However, having the harness attachment bar located on the "x" closer to the rear window seems to place the harnesses further than the 8" recommended by Schroth. Is this still acceptable?
Vs. the RSS or Cantrell where the harness attachment bar is on the side of the rollbar closer to the seats.

Thank you all for replying..
I'm thinking about doing a full cage, the chances are I'll never track it, but I think it looks amazing.
I know I'm going to get a lot of heat for this, but couple months I've had the car for I've only done 200 some miles on it.
after reading all the great info on this thread I'm thinking about BBI.
Thanks again

Is the Porsche Clubsport rear rollbar available in the US? Is it better than the BBi/GMG options? Curious which way would be the way to go on a new GT3.

The chassis mounting points for the factory Clubsport bar are deleted at the factory for US cars. I think we need to use aftermarket...

I also live in the SoCal area so this is helpful.
Given something similar to the Clubsport rear cage, what should I be looking at roughly in terms of price to get everything installed (parts and labor)? 2K? 3K? 4K? More? Want to get a rough idea.
Edit: Contacted a few vendors. Seems to be around the $2500-3500 range for something similar to a Clubsport.

I would think full cage would really hurt resale if you are not going to track the car. Won't a full cage ultimately cause changes to need to be made to the dash and potentially mar the headliner. Also make it much more difficult to get in and out of the car. Sounds like the to what Nick posted is what would be better, and may be what you were thinking of anyway.
