Lets not forget the 911-50 also has the Powerkit which added torque and took it to 430HP. Almost never find an S with that option. In a manual it is the best "Daily" 911 I've ever driven.

Totally depends on what you plan to do with the car. I've owned a lot of 997 and 991 variants inc. 996 GT3, 997.1 GT3, 991.1 GT3 and 991.1 RS. If you like PDK the 991.1 GT3 is a terrific track car. The motor, PDK and suspension are all tuned to give you great lap times and electronics are there to help make that comparatively safe. There's no doubt that if I was using the car to turn laps I'd want the GT3.

If you plan to use the car on the road, I'm less sure. Depends on your taste. The GT3 is noticeably stiffer, has lower clearance and brings (unwanted?) attention. It also isn't really doing it's thing unless you wind it up and then it's loud. It's not a terrible DD but it requires that you want that experience. When I was 35 I think it would have been great. Now that I'm 46 I wouldn't DD a GT car.

PDCC cannot be turned off. It just happens to be labeled on the same button as suspension stiffness. The clever Porsche marketing dept realized buyers were wondering where their option was they paid $$$ for because it wasn't labeled on any buttons early on in the 991.1's. They decided to add it to a current button so you can show off to your friends and impress them.

Something to distract them away from the cup holders

I simultaneously owned a 991.1 GT3 and a 991.1 GTS (albeit a Cab) which I still have. And although not owned, have driven 991_50.

There is no comparison between 991.1 GT3 and a GTS. The GTS is maybe 5-10% above a C2S whereas a GT3 is on another planet from a performance perspective. The GTS feels slow compared to a GT3 at all points in the rev range. And in some situations, the GT3 also rides better. The only area in which you could argue that the GTS is better is that it is much louder at low revs but I must admit that the artificial pops and crackles on overrun can drive me a bit nuts sometimes so I often drive the car in sport plus but in manual mode to get rid of the pops and crackles.

Yes, that has always amused me. One owner I knew swore he could tell the difference when he turn the PDCC button on and off. I let him live in his delusion.

I find the GTS stiff enough, but not too stiff, usually choose Sport for every day then sport plus when out of town. I was wondering if the GT3 drew too much attention. I have a maritime C2RS for 10 years from 98-2008 and had it fitted with a Heigo Alloy cage for track days, with black alloys it looked tough, I never had any real unpleasantness from other drivers or pedestrians. I borrowed a bright yellow 993 RSR fro a weekend got called a w***er three times ! One annoyed me so much I turned the car round and very nearly became a victim of road rage, fortunately for both of us he apologised when I confronted him/them. I was wondering if I did trade to a GT3 is it ws possible to fit a lid from something like the .2 GT3, an R or even a GTS, might need to think about the electrics for the rear spoiler (perhaps one non loom wire simply up n down by button). Don't know how much that little lost would add up to !
