ARE THE NA's REALLY ENDING IN '19

I don't see them shelving a new/heavily revised 4l engine after only half a gen. BUT, Euro emissions rules and those in other countries will make it increasingly difficult to build such cars, so it isn't the 992.1 then it won't be long after.
Hell at the rate the self-driven golf carts, er... electric cars... are gaining ground, I'll eventually be happy with an FI car that I can actually drive myself. Just not yet.

When it happens it just happens .............thats life and the way things are going ,if Porsche has to do that then so be it ,all one can do is hang on to your NA GT car and enjoy it ,,,times are a changing

This is fake news. Autocar is always full of s***. No way Porsche develops a brand new 4.0 and then shelves it after a single GT iteration. No way. Still another 5-7 years easy left for NA halo cars from Porsche, if not more.

For me cars are about enjoying kinetic art, not investments.
If they feel and drive less special in the future then these NA GT3s are to be savored and enjoyed like a fine wine...and when the bottle is gone...
I drive my 16M....I drive my Speciale...

At some point Porsche will no longer offer a naturally aspirated engine. 10 years from now? 25 years? But I feel like the 992 will get another round of NA GT3's.
When they do switch, they will lose some of the character but it will come with a huge bump in performance. I've got to imagine a GT3 easily with the new GT2RS level of performance.

I hope you are right, would be nice to build a collection.

It's a ridiculous long shot, but wouldn't it be something if they stopped certifying NA GT cars for EU but continued for a cycle for the NA market. It would be a rare day that we got the good stuff and the EU could only look on longingly.
