My dream comes true!
Happy New Year, all! Just picked up my new to me 2014 Amaranth Red Metallic GT3! I can't drive her though until warmer weather (currently 6 degrees with icy, salt filled roads and snow on the way). I'm spending the agonizing time outfitting her with all the necessary (to me) accessories. I'm looking for a license plate frame that Porsche used to make that had the GT3 name plate on it. It came in various finishes. I would need the carbon fiber or the black stainless model - need 2 of them (my state requires front and back plates). I'm hoping that someone on this forum might have purchased one or the other previously and is no longer using it. I saw the after market carbon fiber frame made by unique karbon, but I need 4 screws not 3M tape.
Thanks to all of you for your wonderful, educational and entertaining posts that I have been avidly (obsessively??!) following for the past several years that helped me find the perfect car for me and gave me the courage to buy with confidence, knowing that I had a great support group, to whom I could turn for advice. A big shout-out to Robmypro and Mooty for their great advice! Now, Eduardo, I'm counting on you to educate me on the history of my PTS Amaranth Red Metallic color! Let me know if anyone has a GT3 name plate license plate frame you would be willing to part with. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...98e2a8357a.jpg Here she is! I only have the dealership photos - too cold to wash off the grime from the drive home. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...bda55e1d74.jpg This is the frame I'm searching for. It also came in Black Stainless Steel. Either one would work. Cheers! Jennifer |
Amazing PTS red. The original gt3 wheels really make it. Interior pics? Cant help on the plate mounts unfortunately!

Have you considered magnets behind the bumper to hold the front plate on? Also 3M tape is some incredible stuff. That is one great looking car! Please do not screw a front license plate into the bumper!!!
Congrats on your purchase. Cant wait to see some more pictures. That is one of the best looking reds I have ever seen. |
Congrats and enjoy! I believe it was a factory Porsche color ~2012-2014. It’s not PTS as it was available as a special color on 2014 GT3. It is very special though as few were ordered in amaranth red. |
Congrats beautyfull car !

Awesome color....Congrats!!!

I wouldn't drill the front bumper or even put a plate on the front through any other means. Just take the risk. Small penalty (if any) if you get pulled over for not having a front plate. Consider it a small tax.

Very nice colour and a big congrats on your dream car.

Boxsterbabe14 - I'm pretty sure that is a stock color and not PTS. Anyway, small world, I looked at and drove that car last week. It drove nice and I am sure you will love it. For my purposes I was comparing the PDK in the .1GT3 to the 7spd in the base Carerra. I was also looking at a Carrera T and that is what I went with, through POTML. I still have my fingers crossed to find a .2 GT3 MT in the future.
Enjoy. |
Congrats, you couldn't have gotten it from a better dealer!
|
Congrats.
Why wait until spring to drive? Put on a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 245/35/20 front and 295/30/20 rear. It's very capable in the snow and these cars aren't going to melt when it sees salt. |
Congrats and PTS AR is amazing color! For a front plate "no drill" solution, I would consider the Carbonio option. Best of luck!
